We've all seen them, people who are totally wrong for the roles they have been cast in.You know you leave the show thinking 'who did they know to get that gig?' Or even 'Who did they sleep with to be cast in that role?'
Think of some bad (totally fictious) casting scenarios, like:
Sarah Brightman as Mammy Yokim in Lil Abner, Bea Arthur as Maria Von Trapp or Nathan Lane as Billy Bigelow in Carousel. Any thoughts?

(to the tune of "Oops... I Did It Again")
Oh Baby, bay. How was I suposed to know
That I am on my own.... yeah
(rips coat open to reaveal skanky Eponine costume. Student rebels rush on from the wings, grinding and gyrating as Eponine starts to run hands over her body in a very sexual way)
What the F#ck kind of a title is Oops I Did It Again??

No wait I think I win with this....
Roseanne as Mama Rose and scariest casting ever (come up with one to beat this)....CAROL CHANNING AS CARLA IN NINE (Just imagine bed sheet + Carol Channing = me going blind)

bestofbroadway and I officially have a tie.
I imagined Carol in a bedsheet in Passion (the opening).

Yeah...that's scary too. But not as scary as Carla in Nine. Imagine "Call To the Vatican"- Carol Channing and phone sex-makes me want to throw up. And you have to admit that Melanie Griffith as Luisa is a pretty scary thought also. Updated On: 6/18/03 at 09:25 AM
Which face will Melanie Griffiths have? Her original or one of the new ones? Then again Ann Miller Claudia, I can almost hear her..."in a very unusual way..."

Maybe Mels can put on a different face for each performance and then wear which everone they find out works best. Or they can just play with her like a Mr. Potatohead and mix and match.

Who cares what face she has....imagine the bloodshed...just imagine the BLOODSHED!
HAHA even better....Melanie Giffith as MEDEA with Antonio Banderas as JASON
Melanie Griffiths as Roxie. Judging the way she stomped off on the Tony's, after doing her Nine intro I can see that she'll reduce some dance captain to tears. And what presence!

I think this is my favorite thread EVER...how about.
Ethel Merman as Sweet Charity
Mary Martin as Mimi in Rent
Chris Farley as Edna Turnblad
Kelly Osborne as Tracy Turnblad
Ozzy Ozborne as Hedwig
Anna Nicole as Carla in Nine
Regis Philbin as Curly in Oklahoma
Kathy Lee Gifford as Emma in Tell Me On a Sunday
Whoopi Goldberg as Effie in Dreamgirls
Margaret Cho as Tracy Turnblad (now that would be both scary and hystrical)
...okay so maybe I'm having a little to much fun with this

Oh My God! I am picturing Mary Martin in the 'Out Tonight' costume gyrating on the bars and wailing 'Oooouuuut Tonight" while shaking glitter out of her hair. It is almost as scary as my Britney one. LOL. ::cringe at both::
A couple of those are almost plausible.
