seating advice (for 2 shows)

Can't help you with Slave Play but The Sound Inside was great and is an excellent choice. I did the TodayTix rush for $35 (plus $7.50 fee) which generally will place you in the 3rd or 4th row of the rear mezz. It feels really far away when you sit down but once the play started and drew me in, it didn't bother me at all. The legroom, as has been widely documented is not great. Even with the holiday, I assume they'll still offer rush for each show and if I was to see it again, that's what I probably would do. If you want to spend a little more, today, Cyber Monday, both TodayTix and Goldstar have discounted seats. I sat rear side Orchestra for Latin History for Morons and thought it was a fine seat with good sightlines. The legroom in that theater is the big issue but generally sightlines are pretty good even from the sides and much of the play is towards the front of the stage. So some discounts are available without the certainty of knowing your exact seat. Good luck and hope you enjoy it.

I am very similar to you in that the front mezzanine is always my first choice. I saw The Sound Inside twice - once through TDF which put me in the front mezzanine row B, and a second time with a friend who got us great orchestra seats. I found the play to be extremely powerful from both viewpoints. The play itself is so great, that I think it can be enjoyed from anywhere in the cavernous Studio 54. Of course, the closer the better since it is a very small and quiet play. I would probably try just avoiding the rear mezzanine for this one.

I saw Slave Play towards the front of the rear mezzanine, and the view was great. I don't think that there is a bad seat in the Golden, but I know some people think the last few rows of the rear mezzanine are too far.

Thank you, everyone, for your thoughts. I picked up front mezz tix (through Today's Tix) for the Sound Inside. Still holding off on Slave Play......trying to weigh the possibility of it showing up on TDF.



Also, grabbing tix to see My Name is Lucy Barton for later in the winter. Very curious.

dramamama: not to be glib, but really both of these shows are performed dead center stage. For the Sound Inside, I sat front left Orch so its possible that sitting in the back of the mezz in that barn will remove you from the intimacy of the play- but you wont miss anything no matter where you sit. Id just get as close as possible to bask in Mary Louise Parker.

as for Slave Play, there is no bad seat in the Golden, and the performances are loud and projected to the back of the house. Just go with the cheapest you can find though I would be very surprised if you dont find some on TDF (which sat us the extreme right of the front mezz, and we saw everything fine).
