It's a pretty emotional piece. So unless you DON'T connect with it, I'd expect tears. That being said, there is a bit of humor sprinkled about, obviously more abundant in Act I. But I agree with a previous poster that mentioned the feeling upon leaving is not a depressed one.
I've seen both shows and I wouldn't pluck down another red cent to see THIS production of WSS againm--and trust me, NO ONE was more excited to see this revival than I. I've seen N2N a number of times, and was thoroughly entranced each time.
