Either way a show would have to close EXTREMELY SOON in order for spelling bee to make it for this season. And with the producers not caring about opening for this years Tony awards. It makes more sense to hold the show until a sutable theatre opens up.

A "Stop Clause" has nothing to do with a percentage. It is all about dollars which is why a percentage can be misleading.
If a show sells out on TDF tickets (say 8000 seats a week at $30 each) it still only makes 240k/week which is rarely enough to break even or make it above the stop clause. Yet because some amount of money was paid for all the seats, the percentage of paid attendance is still 100%. This is an extreme example, but you've got to look at the dollar figures.
Brooklyn's figures are not good at all and are not likely to get measurably better over the long haul. Granted it does have a low weekly nut, but it has still been losing money. Even with royalty and rent waivers and other cuts, they are slowly sinking. there's nothing wrong with that. All shows close sooner or later.
Spelling Bee might not make the Tony cutoff in May because they do have to build a new set. Still Rent did it in about the same amont of time, and Rent is a bit more complex technically.
