They do give out an ensemble award, but later in the year.
BIG RIVER won it a few years ago.
I would give it to A CHORUS LINE this year.

And Baz Lurhman's La Boheme company won it a few years ago, as well. It's an honorary award.
IMO, none of the companies this year deserve it more than Coast of Utopia.

The Tonys don't give out an "Ensemble Award" per se. They have given out special "Tony Honors" for the past several years to groups and persons who don't fit into any of the regular categories including to casting directors, wig makers, and organizations such as TCG, Encores and The Acting Company. On two occasions they've given out an award to an ensemble -- Big River and La Boheme -- but it's not an award they give out every year to a specific ensemble.
I thought Barbara Walsh and Heather Laws were the best of the actors in Company, they both deserved their nomination. I personally thought Walsh gave a exquisite performance and played the role as if it had been written for her, IMO. Her "Ladies Who Lunch" was priceless but actually her scene right after the song is worthy of a nomination in itself.
Laws was just devine in about every line that came out of her mouth.
If I had to choose, it'd be:
Erin Davie-GREY GARDENS
Heather Laws-COMPANY
Barbara Walsh-COMPANY
Mary-Louise Wilson-GREY GARDENS
Karen Ziemba-CURTAINS
Others could surprise: Orfeh, Megan Sikori, Alisan Porter, Charlotte D'Amboisse, Rebecca Luker are some that come to mind.
Wait till you see and hear Linda Balgord, I think she will def get a nom.
Based (for now) strictly on the reviews and opinions , buzz from people I trust, Orfeh is a shoe-in for a nomination this year. That would make me really happy.
For me, it's between Erin Davie and Heather Laws.
At this point, the most likely group I see getting nominations in Featured Actress are:
Erin Davie, "Grey Gardens"
Heather Laws, "Company"
Barbara Walsh, "Company"
Mary Louise Wilson, "Grey Gardens"
Karen Ziemba, "Curtains"
I'd say it's Wilson's to lose.
Erin Davie, Grey Gardens
Orfeh, Legally Blonde
Barbara Walsh, Company
Mary Louise Wilson, Grey Gardens
Karen Ziemba, Curtains
Ziemba and Wilson are locks, Wilson will win.
DEFINITE:
Mary Louise Wilson, Grey Gardens
Orfeh, Legally Blonde
MAYBE:
Barbara Walsh, Company
Linda Balgord, The Pirate Queen
HARD TO IMAGINE BUT I GUESS?
Capathia Jenkins, Martin Short
Erin Davie, Grey Gardens
OH GOD. AGAIN?
Karen Ziemba, Curtains

"No one from A CHORUS LINE will be nominated."
Even though the show was a carbon copy, I think Cortez, Porter, and Davi are worthy, if the latter two are considered.
I think:
Karen Ziemba, CURTAINS
Mary Louise Wilson, GREY GARDENS
Orfeh, LEGALLY BLONDE
Rebecca Luker, MARY POPPINS, Natalie Cortez, A CHORUS LINE, or Heather Laws, COMPANY
Celia Keenan Bolger, LES MISERABLES
Foster, I wouldn't call Orfeh a "lock" just yet. I'd wait until BLONDE opens and see how she and the show are receieved by critics.
Right now, I'd say the only lock is Mary Louise Wilson.
I'd also guess Barbara Walsh could get a nomination.
I just got back from the final dress rehearsal of "Curtains." I think that not only is Karen Ziemba a strong contender, but Megan Sikora is as well. She is fantastic in this production...a true "triple threat."

If Orfeh's performance and reviews are as good (or better) than they were in San Fran then I would agree with Foster that she's a lock for a nomination. Let's also not forget, she was unjustly snubbed during Saturday Night Fever because the show was so despised. Let's hope that's not something that happens to her again. I would bet the win will go to Wilson for being sentimental favorite alone.

I would die happy if Capathia Jenkins got a nomination for FAME BECOMES ME.
I think only Raul will be nominated for COMPANY
(in the acting noms)
Walsh is great till a weak shrill LADIES
and the other women are just not strong actresses
(but they can play those instruments and march quite well)
WILSON
ZIEMBA
BALGORD
LUKER
BOLGER
I might change my mind later.

Jenkins deserves it - she is an extremely talented woman, beyond FAME BECOMES ME.
But she sold that song extremely well...

Orfeh is not a shoo-in for Legally Blonde (though it's a slight possibility) and Shindle has no chance.

-Natalie Cortez " A Chorus Line"
-Orfeh " Legally Blonde"
-Celia Keenan Bolger " les Miserables"
-Whoever
I highly doubt the LES MISERABLES replacements will recieve any recognition.
I doubt Luker, Bolger, or Cortez have any chance at all.

I hope they have fixed Linda Balgord's music. Everyone who saw PQ in Chicago (including the critics) said the same thing:
"Why is she singing so high? You can't understand a word she's saying!"
