does anyone have the MARY POPPINS recording?

i'm absolutely desperate to hear it.

i've searched LIMEWIRE etc, but the disney recording dominates. i know that one can NEVER have enough of julie andrews, but...i'd love to hear the west end musical version.

"...But Kungurtseva reels off multiple fouettes and the tape is stopped so she can take a bow. The Jester, an abomination introduced to Swan Lake in Soviet times, extorts applause from the audience. The cuts don't help the storytelling, the production is bare bones and they go for the '50s-style happy ending. The audience cheers like mad at the end. It's the Russian ballet, after all..."

I have it. I bought it from Amazon.uk....Your credit card will be charged in the Euro and will appear that way on your bank statement, but it will obviously charge you the equal amount in american money....i think it came to like $15, but i bought it presale...i've heard it's gone up.

Best of Luck!

sarcasm or not what you're asking for is illegal. I don't care what your circumstances are you can buy the CD from Amazon or First Night Records from almost any place in the world and even if you can't or you can't get it delivered to your location, there are always legal options to take. hell, give me the money. I'll buy it for you and I'll make sure it gets to you. at least then you wouldn't be breaking the law...

I did not burn it, but I must admit that Mary Poppins was very expensive. It was $27 at Virgin, although I can't complain because I also got "The Woman in White" OLCR there for only $14.99.

Cats, I heartily agree and offer the same gesture of kindness to stage_door76 by offering to purchase it for him and then sending it to him. And I wasn't being sarcastic, I was being frank.

Do most of you who have seen the show share my disappointment with the show? I have to say that Michael Billington in the Guardian and Ben Brantley hit the nail on the head in their review. The show only reaches musical theatre nirvana in a few spots. The opening 10 minutes were especially disappointing-they lack pizzazz. I understand the musical is more faithful to the book than the film was but it was such a wonderful film.

"It does what a musical is supposed to do; it takes you to another world. And it gives you a little tune to carry in your head. Something to take you away from the dreary horrors of the real world. A little something for when you're feeling blue. You know?"
