I have also seen four out of five
Donna - wonderful actress, okay singer. But already has two Tony's.
Stephanie - underdog - she's good, but not great.
Kristin - phenomenal. But my vote goes to...
Idina Menzel - its not many performers who can give you goosebumps, make you cry, AND make you root for the "wicked witch" to win. It's a complicated role, and she brings such dimension and vulnerability and sensitivity to the role.
As for Tonya Pinkins, w/ all her salary controversy and such, I think she may have lost it. She'll probably get nominated b/c she is good (or so I hear), but will likely not win.
So GO IDINA!

Don't forget, though, that all the press received about the salary dispute was clearly in her favor. Except for the wildly out-of-character slam Paul W. gave her in his Stage Notes column.
Please...the producers wanted to pay their Tony-winning star $2,000 a week because they don't believe their show will last?
Shame on them. My friend got $1500 for uttering 5 lines in JANE EYRE.

agree agree agree with shira
the sheer capacity of idina's character and her connection with the audience should win her the tony, she took this deep character and brought it to life, but there's much more...kristen did the obvious with glinda, plus she had the advantage of good writing...idina took the ball of mishaped clay and shaped it into Elphaba...sheer perfection
GO IDINA!
