The National Production of AG was pretty special but I think this new Broadway outing is likely to be pretty special too. It's gonna be directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, who has a great CV of choreographic and directorial work. I saw her production of Pajama Game in New York which was tremendous and she was co-choregrapher (with Rob Ashford) of the fantastic Kiss Me Kate on Broadway and at the Victoria Palace. Also, the 2011 show is gonna star Sutton Foster (who has blown me away every time I've seen her - even sometimes in really mediocre shows when her performance was the only thing that kept my interest).
All that said, however, I am still a little flabbergasted that producers should choose to pull this show out of the trunk yet again. Surely there are better classic shows to revive (or even God forbid, there are some NEW shows to stage).
