Posted: 7/18/10 at 11:09pmYou can get tickets for 50% off most of the time for Next to Normal. That means they will be about $60.00. They could be good, or they could be lousy. A lot of time they are in the rear of the orchestra, which is considered obstructed view since you can't see the third level of the set. I'd prefer to sit in the balcony than the rear of the orchestra. They are fairly helpful, and will show you where the seats are located. If you don't like them, see what else they have.

Posted: 7/18/10 at 11:09pmI went to the 7:30 show on Sunday June 27th and I got there right after the final HAIR stagedoor so roughly like 6:45, my friend and I got first row mezz on the right on the aisle closest to the center mezz for 127 for both tickets. It was a great deal.

I've seen Next to Normal (non-tkts tickets, mind you) from the last row of the orchestra, and I saw the 3rd level perfectly fine, and there were only 6 short instances that Gabe was on that level.
(hope that helps...)

Fine...the last row of the mezz is row H in that theater so it's not far back at all.
Also I've sat in the rear orch for Next to Normal and it's fine...the top level of the set is used for maybe a total of about 5 minutes, you don't miss much at all and the only person who even goes up there is Gabe.
I've gotten TKTS tickets for Next to Normal a few times...the best seats I had were row C center mezz, and then I also had row B of the mezz off to the side and I believe row M in the orchestra. All of them were very good seats.

Posted: 7/19/10 at 1:10amThe last time I used TKTS was in 1998 and got orchestra seats for TITANIC for $30 each. $65 a seat just doesnt seem like a good enough deal for me to stand in the hot sun for two hours.

Posted: 7/19/10 at 5:51amI've found that I've typically gotten better seats closer to curtain-time - within the last hour or so. And I usually can skip that "two hour line" everyone whines about. It's almost always a walk-up or waiting for maybe two or three people.

I haven't used tkts in YEARS (once I found other ways to buy discounted!) but I've heard angelplays claims quite often.
The theaters send stuff over throughout the day and won't release the 'house seats' to tkts without trying to sell them full price on their own.

"has tkts ever been really good to anyone"
What does this even mean? Were they rude to you? I know they tell people anything just to see them a ticket, so be forewarned that they generally know jack about the theatres & the productions' set-ups. They're just there to move tickets. But, if you know what to expect, you'll be fine.
