value of older playbills?

Can anyone tell me the value of older Playbills? A family member has asked me to sell a bunch of them for her. She used to work in different box offices of Broadway theaters and has a collection of excellent condition Playbills, that are 40-50 years-old, that she wants me to list on ebay. Any ideas if I should have a minimum amount per Playbill? Are they really worth anything? Is there a website or something that might have values? Thanks for any help!

If it's a special one, like opening night, one year, closing blah blah blah it's probably worth more. And how well the show did, or how good it was etc

You can sell it individually, by lots of 5's, 10's or sell it as a whole package.

Playbill sells mint condition opening night's for $10.

I have bought playbills from price ranges of $5 up to $60 for a lot of about 30 playbills.

It just depends how popular they are.

Unfortunately, ever since the advent of the internet and especially eBay, Playbills as well as any collectible nor longer bring in the crazy prices they used.

Reason? The internet has helped bring the world to each of us so things that were once rare are no longer rare. Before you had to spend years hunting travelling antique shows or collectible shows. Now everything is a click away on a computer.

I remember about 15 years ago a 1964 Playbill for FUNNY GIRL (with Barbra Streisand) easily fetched about $350 on the collector's circuit. You can easily find one on eBay (during any time-frame of her run in the show) for less than $10.

Thanks for the info. I will tell her not to expect too much. I believe that she was thinking they would be worth more since they are fairly old.

Speaking of older playbills, I'm looking for a 'A Little Night Music' one. I've had little luck on ebay... any other leads for me?

I bought an ALNM playbill on ebay. I don't think they go for too much unless you find someone who is really interested in them. The biggest prices go for the ones that are sold in groups.

i just bought on ebay an OBC playbill of gypsy (i think) from 1961 with Ethel on the front. i wonder if that is or will be worth anything?

Nope. 100% of collectors go straight to eBay for any collectibles. Even Amazon lists merchandise that links on eBay so even if you do an Amazon search, the product itself is posted on eBay.
