It's pretty darn amazing that whatever medical ailment ailed her for the past four weeks will have disappeared in three weeks from today for her to do the one-night PASSION concert. I'd like to know what miracle medicine she's found.
there's a huge difference between performing 8 times a week and doing a one-night concert. maybe you could consider giving that some thought.

I wonder if Linda Mugleston will be standing by in the wings, just in case.
I just hope Linda is on call at the concert that night
DAMN YOU, CHANNING!!!!

What was that saying about great minds?
Ah, yes. So very true. And I am not reading NOT SINCE CARRIE. Thank you for reccomending it. I got it last night and it's just fascinating!
Now, redhot, I usually agree with everything you say, but I will take issue with this issue (hee). PASSION is a bajillion times more difficult to sing than WONDERFUL TOWN. If she couldn't handle that role 8 nights a week, up to and including two days ago, she certainly shouldn't be able to handle PASSION for one night three weeks from now.
Rath - Wonderful town is a comedy with lots of movement, and I'm not excusing her at all -but - a "concert" version of Passion will only take a couple of hours as opposed to 16 hours a week singing and moving and getting up all that energy to do a musical comedy. I think she should have no problem pulling it off, and I still insist that there are reasons none of us will ever fully understand, which caused her to miss those performances. I just can't bring myself to judge her too critically.
I'm not judging - I'm being practical here.

Oh goodness....just when I thought this was over....here we go again! People do recover/heal...even if it may take awhile and not happen at the best time. Shouldn't Donna be allowed to perform again now that she is able??

Fosca must be a more draining role than Ruth and yet Murphy only missed one prescheduled performance during PASSION's run.
no, she should never be allowed to perform again... she's missed entirely too many performances and she should just go sit in a corner from now on...
oy
YES, joeyjoe. That's all we're saying.
Does anyone know just how many she missed compared to how many performances the show had?
ok - now you're all just being ridiculous...she's a human being and human beings make mistakes and have failings and illnessess etc...I still think she's an incredible performer. And until I can walk a mile in her character shoes- I ain't about to put my own spin on her situation.
I'm not putting a spin - I'm observing.

She missed more than 60 performances and the performance total must be somewhere in the low 300s by now. I don't think September should count against her as I bet she left early in the month but the Weisslers kept advertising her until last week.
it's barry and fran's fault!!!
Yeah, cause it did them a LOT of good to publicize a star who wasn't showing up.
joey - I know you're joking - but I'm more inclined to believe that statement than anything else I've read on this subject.
redhot, read my post above yours. It makes no sense that they were behind her absences.
but they could have been the ones who caused her (read: provoked) to take the time off...I'm not taking sides - but I refuse to be against her simply for missing performances.
