I am going to the waitress performance this week when they do Karaoke after the show and I was wondering if anyone has attended before and knows how they choose who gets to perform. Also how many people do they pick and how long do they allow you to sing? Thank you in advance.

From the original Playbill article: Interested audience members will be able to sign up before the performance for the chance to sing one minute of any song in the show accompanied by musical director Nadia DiGiallonardo.

I'm guessing, after sign ups, it's a random "out of the hat" kind of thing.

No other info. Have fun

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

They pick the names out of a hat ( well actually a pot holder mitten) on stage. They usually pull out around 6-8 names. Sometimes it's a solo name, sometimes a small group.

It usually goes on for a half hour or so.
