Hmmm....I do love me some Kevin
Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing someone completely new as Eliza. No Cheno, no Audra, no Laura. Someone none of us have ever heard of before who will bowl us all over with how amazing she is.

Oooh, I'd like Erin Davie.
Anna Friel would be great if she could sing--I'd have to hear her.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

If she can't sing, she should play the part in PYGMALION, I bet she'd make a brilliant Eliza Doolittle in either version.
Glad you agree SporkGoddess re Davie, I know you are picky with your sopranos, I think she would be a wonderful refreshing choice.

I could see Kevin McKidd as the erudite and pompous Higgins. And I love Kelli in anything. She's got the personality for Eliza but it would be fun to find someone very young for the role. Andrews was only twenty when the show opened originally.

It might be cool to have Kelsey Grammer do the role (again...he did in a concert with Kelli O'hara, right?) and have David Hype Pierce as Pickering...I don't think the role is too small for him.
Then Pierce could take over when Grammer leaves.

Kevin Earley for Freddie.
Mmmmm, good idea!
I just can't think of an ideal Pickering off the top of my head, but when I've seen the show, Pickering's usually a big guy and Higgins is usually smaller, so that's kind of how I envision the characters.

That would be fab MTVMANN, and while we're at it, Jane Leeves as Eliza (who is British and CAN sing), figure out a role of John Maroney and Bebe Neuwirth, and I'm set.

The only other female role of any substance is Mrs. Higgins...I don't think Bebe would play it...unless it was a big paycheck!

Like a hole in the head. This is a real blind spot for me- I can't bear My Fair Lady. Sorry.

Bumping this thread because I'd love to see a revival with Laura Michelle Kelly reprising her role as Eliza from the West End. To see and listen to her sing "I Could Have Danced All Night" and "Show Me" would give me goosebumps.
