I don't know why they did Totally F*CKed. They knew it would end up sounding ridiculous. If they wanted, they could have just done the blah blah blah's, so it wouldn't have ended up sound so odd. I don't know why Totally F*CKed's staging was basically totally changed.

I was expecting to not mind the alterations very much, and for the most part, I didn't. But 'Totally F_____' was a big mistake. Seeing as the girls already performed at the Drama Desk awards and none of them had any Tony nominations, I'd've been tempted to say "look, we're just going to do 'The Bitch Of Living' and that'll be it". Or at the very least, start with 'Mama Who Bore Me', seque into 'The Bitch Of Living' and STOP THERE. But 'Totally *LOOK MY HANDS ARE OVER MY EARS I'M MOCKING THE CENSORS!*' just looked awkward and tacky, and the vocal arrangements were simple and boring. Bleh. XP

"Breast" isn't allowed because it is being used in a sexual context, ie Whatshisface is fantasising about his piano teacher's breasts.

However, "bitch" is being used as "life's a bitch", which isn't offensive, unlike, say, calling an individual a bitch, which most certainly would be viewed as offensive.

Yup, this is as interesting as I get. Did anyone else see Sheik and Sater kissing Cerveris or is my brain *covers ears!*ing with me?

I thought the medley was fine up to Totally ---. That was just odd.

I wonder, if they could say "bitch" on TV, why not just do the Bitch of Living?
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

whatever! it was fun and silly and you know what they're young and looked extremely satisfied with their own performances. And sure, it's supposed to be for the audience, but i think each performance is really a mini celebration for each show. these kids, who are so young, are at the TONYS! I would kill to be where they are, so I"m glad they looked like they were having fun and enjoying themselves. Also I loved John G. Jr's little stick out tongue thing. so cute!

I thought it was a veritable F YOU! To the FCC. Saying "Yes, we have a show with some things you won't let us do... but we're not letting it make our art less than what it is.. At first I didn't like it... but thinking about it later, I came to this conclusion. The lighting was some of the most GORGEOUS I've ever seen, it even looked better than it did in the Eugene O'Neil. Didn't like the opening lyric changes... but I loved Totally F*****.

i agree, i thought it was great up until Totally ::cover mouth::.... at least let them sing it and then bleep it out later, why make them cover their mouths?

i also dug the Bill T. Jones choreography on the chairs for the three leads.

and having EVERYONE perform at the same time mustve been a blast for them! AWESOME!

I really liked the performance. It was really fun and energetic and none of the lyric changes really bothered me. I was watching it with my friends who don't know much about the show, and they both seemed to like it, too.
I understand why people don't like the covering up the mouth thing in Totally F------, but I thought it was a pretty clever way around the censorship problem. It was a good idea to do that song, too, because it's really catchy and really gives the cast a chance to get into the performance and have fun, which made it a joy to watch, in my opinion.

I thought to myself "WTF??? This is what won best choreography, over Curtains???" I also thought the alterations were overly-censored (is that a word). I disliked everything but the first little tidbit. From there it went down the hill and all over the place, Songwise.

In the show, during the Mama Who Bore Me Reprise, are they normally like that? Because Lauren Pritchard looked like she was about to pull a bat out of her skirt and bite its head off.
One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

As for Lea...was I the only one who got annoyed at her making eyes at the camera rather than being in character??

The harmonies during Totally F*cked???
The blah blah blahs were different, no?
That was like my favorite part of the whole song.
The sensoring was cute though. But must've been stupid for the viewers who had no idea what was supposed to go there.
EW. The lyrics for Bitch of Living?
I was freaking out. My dad was like "calm down!" I don't like them at all.
The show deserved every Tony it got, however and I'm glad Johnnn got his Tony! So....when are they auditioning the replacement cast for LA? hehehe re: what are your thoughts on the alterations made to Spring Awakening in t

The sensoring was cute? Are you kidding? It took away half of the song. "The Harmonies during Totally F8cked???" That's cause there were none.
