re: what does this RENT line mean?

I've always loved singing that line with the CD. I also say it whenever someone say that they've missed something, but I do that with a lot of Rent lines (when lighting candles, doing sound checks, ordering food in a restaurant... you get the idea). I guess I didn't help much, sorry.

re: what does this RENT line mean?

uh...that line has to do with sex...
"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

missed "the spot"... aka no orgasm.

you're welcome
There's nothing you can know that isn't known. Nothing you can see that isn't shown. Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be. It's easy: ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.

re: what does this RENT line mean?

It has to do with a stap-on dildo which is commonly used by lesbians in lieu of a penis.

re: what does this RENT line mean?

I have also two questions. I'm from Germany and i don't understand everything in the text from the cd booklet from rent. Which relation ship does Mimi have with Benny. They had sex with him, before she met Roger, didn't she? And then? I don't understand it? Does she still sleeps with Benny?
And what's a candy bar wrapper
Sorry for this stupid questions!!

I think Roger just says the 'candy bar wrapper' line to try and throw Mimi off cause he found her stash that she lost and he doesn't want her to have it.
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps... What did she realize, Kitten? That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs. What's wrong with that? Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had... Where? On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.

A candy bar wrapper is the piece of material that is wrapped around sugary treats to keep it sanitary and to present the brand label. Roger says that Mimi's stash is a candy bar wrapper to compensate for the noise that he made when he picked up her stash from the floor.

Mimi and Benny seemingly have had a relationship, in the past, however I don't know how to classify their relationship during the course of the play.

re: what does this RENT line mean?

It isn't really specified what happens to them after Mimi meets Roger. During Act II, Roger at least suspects that Mimi and Benny are back together, and that's part of the reason why he leaves.

re: what does this RENT line mean?

Dildos aren't always used by lesbians and the line doesn't specify one.

As stated above Maureen has "missed" hitting the right spot for Joanne, just as she was about to cum.

Ahhhhh, always so nice to see a TWELVE year old thread revived by a newbie.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I really want to know who the nameless poster who joined on 12/31/69 is.  Doc Brown? Marty McFly? Dr. Who? Any character from Star Trek?
