I agree that Your Daddy's Son is incredible, but when done properly As Good As You from Jane Eyre is really moving.

Anthony Crivello's rendition, for example, is wonderful. Anyone get to hear it?

For Good- WICKED. It's a duet, but I've seen it done as a solo (in cabaret shows). Every person I know who has heard it on the cast recording has cried listening to it.

The Story Goes On - BABY

There's a Fine Fine Line - Avenue Q

Lament - EVITA Again a duet, but can easily be done solo.

Too Much For One Heart - this song was cut from MISS SAIGON. But, Lea Salonga has a cd titled The Broadway Concert, on which she sings it the only time it has ever been sung in public. They replaced it in the show with "I'd Give My Life For You." Anyway, GORGEOUS song and I thank Lea for recording it.

I WOULD say "simple" form Nine. But I think that song is sad because of where it comes in the show. pretty much ANYTHING from Les Miserables with a moderately slow tempo is heartbreaking. "Send in the Clowns" is also sad if you perform it with enough gusto.

"Sing the words, Patti!!!!" Stephen Sondheim to Patti LuPone.

"Doctor is in" from YAGMCB. It's so depressing and it just about makes me cry everytime I hear it. Reminds me of my middle school days and how I was as mean as Lucy.

Il Adore is such a beautiful song. Sarah Uriarte Berry made me cry when I saw the show.
