what's next for Leah Hocking?

now that All Shook Up is over, what do you guys think will be next for her? she has an incredible voice. i think she'd make an amazing Maureen in RENT. what do you guys think?

that would be neat...what kind of music do you think she would like to sing? like for instance, i would of never guessed shoshana sings as much pop music as she does, i thought she would sing more R&B.

i have heard rumors of her going to an existing show... but i won't say anything because i don't know if it's for certain... but just rest assured we haven't seen the last of her

i heard an adult character, but i can't see her being an understudy for the female authority figure... and i know they don't have one there. but the understudy for Velma is always an ensemble member. so unless Barbra Walsh is leaving, i don't know!

She said after the last performance of ASU that she's probably going to be playing Velma. (Barabara's been there a long time so that makes sense) Nothing is official yet though.

I was under the impression that Leah Hocking was only playing Velma temporarily, while Barbara Walsh is on a leave of absence to perform in the Transport Group's musical Normal, which closes this week.

Is that right, or did I just totally make that up? Either way, I adore Ms. Hocking...she was superb in LaChiusa's Wild Party.

Leah's playing Velma for a small while until Barbara Walsh (I think that's who is playing Velma - I haven't seen Hairspray for a while) gets back from another project. Barbara is leaving sometime in December, and after that, Leah is taking over full-time.
