I loved The Apple Tree...I think it was beautiful, but I am in the minority on that one.
Grey Gardens is worth seeing for Ebersole.

The Drowsy Chaperone is an excellent show for someone who's alreaddy seen Jersey Boys. (EDIT; Nevermind, didn't see that) But what is your mom like? Is she conservative? Liberal? Knowing her sensibilities would help.

Company might be good, seeing as how it deals with marrige. Some other all-around good shows include . . .

Adrift in Macao (Off-Broadway)
110 in the Shade
Curtains
Hairspray

I have several names, one is Julian2. I am also The Opps Girl. But cross me, and I become Bitch Dooku!

IF she's conservative take her to Talk Radio.

I took my mom to see Hairspray for her first bway show--it's a pretty safe bet I'd say.

Hairspray sounds like a good bet, as do A Chorus Line and Les Miserables. Personally, I didn't like Apple Tree.

A Chorus Line
Les Miserables
Hairpray
Curtains
Legally Blonde
Is your mom too conservative for Avenue Q?

Are you only interested in musicals? There's lots of new plays opening soon:

Deuce
Frost/Nixon
Prelude to a Kiss

An off-Broadway sensation in 1987, Eric Bogosian's Talk Radio is headed to Broadway in a new production starring Tony Award winner Liev Schreiber. Controversial late-night radio host Barry Champlain is preparing to expand his popular talk show from Cleveland to a nationwide audience. On one memorable night, Champlain faces a variety of challenging callers and reveals his true feelings on the air live.

I think the suggestion was a joke.

Mamma Mia seems to be love it or hate it. I hated it, but I know a lot of people who loved it. Also, if you're considering off-Broadway, think about Altar Boyz.

Mama Mia is a mixed bag ... some people love it, some people hate it. I enjoyed MM, but am also a huge ABBA fan. If your mom likes ABBA music, she would probably have a great time at MM, but if she doesn't like their music, don't waste your time.
