if you live in NYC or Jersey or anywhere close to NYC...dont you guys agree thats its absolutley POINTLESS to order tickets offline for full price when you could just do standing room, student rush, or lottery

i mean your bound to get them somehow
and its so cheap

i saw the wedding singer for 25 bucks in the front row while people are buying them online for like 110$$

its crazy isnt it?

The majority of theatre goers are from out of town and typically don't know about standing room or student rish or lotteries until they get to the theatre.

What is the point of having a shift key and period on a computer keyboard?
Or, what is the point of having basic grammar standards?

Apparently no one uses them anyway.

The answer to the question is, there are some who do not know, and I a much larger number who don't care and prefer the peace of just buying a ticket and being done with it.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

It is a good point for anyone who lives in the city, but for the majority of people who are on a specific schedule and can't risk missing out on a specific show on a specific night, the certainty is worth the extra money.

For some productions, that is.

If everyone did standing room, rush, and lottery, you'd be able to see a lot less theater. Count your blessings.

I'm not a student or a child (thus cannot rush) and have zero interest in standing. Lotteries are only for a small handful of musicals, not to mention I have better things to do with my time than wait in lines.

I get discounts for the vast majority of the shows I see. I've never paid $110 to see a show.

Also, when it is a very special occasion you want to be guarenteed seats for the show you want. But I agree that on an average day, I would rather try lotteries or do a cancellation line.

its crazy isnt it?

Sure is! It's crazier than starting 30 threads a day that are nearly unreadable due to the complete absence of punctuation, thought and a point.

It's so much easier to order online. That way it's a sure thing and you don't have to worry that you may or may not get the lottery. Plus I love having great seats, so that eliminates the standing.

I can't imagine standing through a whole show...I'd be thinking about that more than the show itself. Then again, with the seats in some of these theaters, it might be better...

I'm with Margo on this one. I always get discounts, but I prefer to pay in advance.

teebz, I should be completely upset and hurt that you dropped the F-Bomb on me. However, I am just so thrilled that you used capital letters that I can't be bothered.
