btw -

Virgin and Tower is on sale for $15.99

Borders in Manhattan don't have it in yet and can't say when they'll be expecting it.

Ha! I am the one who was asking Mistress if she knew the translation. re: who will be the first to get The Light in the Piazza recording?
I want to write music. I want to sit down right now at my piano and write a song that people will listen to and remember and do the same thing every morning...for the rest of my life. - Jonathan Larson. Tick, Tick...BOOM!

I'm sad and Piazza-less. I'm doubting my luck in finding one where I'm from, which is pathetic, since I'm only an hour from NYC. I also have a small lack of transportation to go hunt one down. re: who will be the first to get The Light in the Piazza recording?

According to the woman at the checkout counter at Virgin, the Piazza cd has been selling like crazy...so crazy it could be on the top sellers list. I was about the millionth person to buy the cd today. (All said in the context of a conversation so please don't take any of the above literally). Just nice to know the demand is there for the cd.

I was at the Megastore with a friend last evening. Both of us had went to see if they might have put the CD out early. When my friend approached the clerk, the man already knew what we were looking for. We assumed we weren't the only ones there begging.

Hello all,
I've been trawling the boards for awhile without posting but this was too much.

I, too, have been waiting for this recording since, oh, I don't know, 2001 or so. And it would have been earlier had I been introduced to Mr. Guettel's music earlier than that.

That being said, was freaking out about Piazza, loved the CD cover, and have been driving the rest of my house crazy with the 4 song popup on nonesuch.com. I pre-ordered (over the phone) the CD at my local Barnes and Noble - in Baton Rouge, Louisiana - and they PROMISED me that it would be HERE, TODAY, on the day it was released.

And it was not.

It will be here on June 2.

(And this is not the only time this has happened to me w/ Barnes and Noble.)

On the upside, I did write a letter to Mr. Ira Weitzman, associate producer for Lincoln Center Theater for musical theatre that started out really offical, student-like and by the end devolved into this sort of "I love the work you do and you and I can't wait to come to NYC and see it!" Tears and all.

Arghh My life is stagnant for an indeterminate time.

If you click on More About This CD, before the synopsis there is a link that says Listen to a sample (or something like that). It has Dividing Day, Love To Me, Say It Somehow, and Octet, all four of which are sooooo stunning to listen to. I just wish I had the CD right now. Damn it. Has anyone found out if Borders has it now? Or is it being annoying like B and N?
