I will be there in a couple of weeks....I bought all my tickets and had one night left. It was out of THE PEOPLE IN THE PICTURE or WARHORSE...and I chose PEOPLE....
Does it have the potential to get any better?
Or should I just leave my tickets @ will call? and buy WARHORSE tickets?

I would just read the other thread and ask there. If you already bought a ticket, just go.

jbm, don't take this the wrong way, but look at the threads that have been started before you start one. Most times the answers to your questions will be there.

I would think the strong theatricality of WAR HORSE would make it a more suitable choice for a 13-y.o. of either gender.

.....agreed. after reading the first night reviews.....I think WARHORSE may be a better choice.
SO.....anyway of getting rid (or canceling) the tickets I already purchased on PLAYBILL?

The show has had exactly 1 performance. It's a brand-new original musical that's premiering on Broadway without any kind of try-out. I'm all for spreading opinions, but I wouldn't be so quick to file the show away in the "hopeless" pile after 1 public performance.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Take the 13-year old to Book of Mormon. And I agree that this thread is pretty extreme...jeez!

i started this thread because my question wasnt answered on the other on...

Probably because no one here has a crystal ball.

I had tickets to the show on Sunday. I considered selling them and seeing something else because of what I'd heard, but I decided to just see it, and I'm very glad I did. I really liked the show. Yes, it has some flaws, and it's not for everyone, but I think it's fixable and I truly enjoyed it.

Why don't you keep the tickets you already paid for and make up your own mind? I'm glad I did.

As for the 13 year old, only you know what s/he likes.

thanks for the info...I will be using my tickets.
I was just wondering if it was appropriate for a 13yo. Meaning, language, sex ....that kind of thing.

Only the passing references to foreskin and the baby's "schmeckel," but those go by very quickly and are more funny than obscene. There is no sex, and not really any violence. Even the characters' deaths are done abstractly or offstage.

I hope you enjoy it like I did.

this show is completely appropriate for a 13 year old. And if she recently had her Bat Mitzvah, then I dont suggest canceling your tickets. I have high hopes that this show will get better. It has potential. Plenty of touching moments. A handful of great musical numbers. Some amazing talent. A great creative team.

It has all the ingredients, but the cook just put wrong quantities each. They are actively working on adjusting the recipe to create something good.

You have your tickets, just wait and see what happens, and formulate your own opinion on the show after seeing it.

I'm sure you will enjoy it more than alot of people on this board. We are all cynical a$$holes who see EVERYTHING on broadway, and have high expectations.

And yes, myself included.
