re: Charles Strouse new show
 May 8 2006, 01:12:52 PM
I saw this show last spring, and although it definitely needed a lot of work at the time, it had some very good numbers. From what I remember, the second act was much stronger than the first, which was a little slow, but I'm sure it's being worked on. I liked the general idea of the show and I think with some time and work, it could be a pretty good show.

Does anyone know if Sweeney Todd generally sells out on Saturday nights? I'm trying to find a good bet for some visiting friends, and I know SRO tickets are only sold when Sweeney's sold out. Thanks in advance.

re: SKIP OR NOT TO SKIP

Skip it! I'm not one to skip class either, but some occasions call for it! I've skipped classes for several similar occasions and I can't tell you how glad I was that I did.
Honestly.. how many classes have you been to in your life? And how many chances do you have to meet Anthony Rapp?

Nicest: Bernadette Peters, Barbara Cook, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Idina Menzel, Donna Murphy, B.D. Wong

I've never had a bad experience with a theater star. Some do seem to be in more of a hurry and less interested, but the theater community in general seems genuinely appreciative and kind to their fans. Two of the absolute nicest people I've ever met, anywhere, are Bernadette Peters and Barbara Cook, who regardless of the circumstances, always acknowledge and are gracious to their fans.

Nicely said, LaCageAuxFollesFan2. Bernadette is one of the biggest, most recognizable theater stars of this generation. Her accomplishments on stage and what many consider to be her status as a "living legend", make it very appropriate for her to be part of the Tony Awards each year. It's probably true that more people would be upset if she wasn't included in the ceremony.

"Defying Chenoweth" and "Bernadette Peters in Gypsy" have me laughing pretty hard every time I hear them. The whole SVU CD's great though.
