"The dresses did change from the 1st preview. The green was gone and definitely blue now. Even Danny Burstein changed his lines from green to blue when asking guests if they had seen his wife when describing the dress she was wearing."
The style of dress is the same, but the color has changed from blue green to blue. And Danny did say "blue green dress" and now says "blue dress". It's not the lighting. The color of the dress has changed. <

And Bernadette Peters reads "Rapunzel" to her school class in PENNIES FROM HEAVEN. She was the WITCH in INTO THE WOODS and looks a lot like MOTHER GOTHEL who is voiced by Donna Murphy.

The idea for the color had come from Ms. Peters, who thought her character might wear something red to capture the heart of an old flame. Mr. Barnes agreed and went for it, and a flurry of Internet opining followed.
" 'Jaw-droppingly horrible' is my favorite quote," said Mr. Barnes, who confessed to having read everything that was written online. The dress has since been refashioned in a softer pink."

The mezzanine does come over the back of the orchestra. Your view might be obstructed because scaffolding is used in FOLLIES for the ghosts to walk around on. Although, I saw FELA! at the Ahmanson and sat in the middle of Orch row Y and could see everything fine even the people on the scaffolding for that show.
