I too was there. I thought she was great, though here little tidbits between songs were awkward. She's not really a small talk type though, and I thought that she sounded wonderful.

Thanks. I'd love to hear her sing "Goodbye for now".
I wonder how she is singing "SOME PEOPLE" these days too (does her voice sound better or worse than say the GYPSY cast recording from 2003?)

She sounded fantastic on all of her songs - especially "There Is Nothing Like A Dame." Loved her arrangement of it.
Emo, what did you find akward? Are you referring to her Florida house? That was so funny.

Posted: 3/5/12 at 12:12amHm. Thanks for the set list. I was delighted the last time I saw her, but was disappointed she sang almost the same songs as she had the time before, and that she repeated the same jokes.

Is she STILL trying to pawn off that house? lol

I found the house bit very cute (though slightly ruined after finding out she does the bit at most concerts). I was more referring to her constant shuffling around when telling stories and taking sips of waters mid sentence (I was scared she was going to have to ask for a refill). That being said, she made it up in song. I go to concerts like this to either hear the performer sound fantastic, or gain wonderful insight to their career.

Posted: 3/5/12 at 2:07amShe sounded great. But as always her show patter is awkward . It is my second time at this venue and I still can't decide if I like it or not.

Dame, I'm so sorry that we didn't see one another. Would have been so wonderful to finally meet you. I've so enjoyed our emails and postings throughout the years. Perhaps - next time.
Doesn't really suprise me that she was drinking a lot of water. It was so dry and windy on Saturday, and very dry inside the theatre as well.

Posted: 3/5/12 at 11:53amAfter seeing her perform her concert 4 times over the years, I still love her dearly and would run to any musical she was in. Her concerts haven't changed hardly an iota...and neither has her patter! The very first time I saw her concert I thought her chat was awkward...and by the third time, the exact same chat was still awkward. She shares joy through her music...I'm just a little less apt to want to engage in a conversation, lol. She needs a Bruce Vilanche or some other witty writer to do for her what he did for Bette Midler!

I've seen Linda Eder in concert many, many times throughout the years, and some of her patter is the same as well - explaining the songs, what she likes to do on vacation, etc.
Never cared for Bruce Vilanch. Love how Bernadette is just so free on stage in terms of her body language and her style. Very funny moment when she slipped/tripped on stage and immediately adlibbed - "No one trips like a Dame" as she was singing. Very clever.
