the problem with our town by wilder is that to many high school audiences it is too boring. also the problem with shakespeare is that unless the cast is open to an analytical approach to the production, a lot of the true greatness of shakespeare would be lost. with that said, i would suggest doing the play star-spangled girl from simon. its a 3 person cast, and the characters work well together

i don't know, call me old-fashioned, but i still like the original above all the rest. Its lack of funds seems to work with the original grungy feel of the show. with the audition piece, i would try to find out, if this is possible, what direction does the director wants to move it in and base it off of that.

Invocation and instructions to the audience from frogs is great, also anything from assassins is enjoyable if you dont mind the language. pirrellis miracle elixir from sweeney is good. glamourous life from a little night music. those are the ones off the top of my head, he has written such beauty that it is had to name the best
