BAD CINDERELLA On Broadway - Reviews & News Thread Mar 26
2023, 07:37:58 PM
is Bad Cinderella really worth seeing? Someone just gave us comps for that and "Juliet", but we HAVE to do laundry this week since there's a funeral on Friday.. My husband was miffed there was no comp for Take Me Out. I reminded him him that TMO was closed, and that he had continually put off going to see it and so there you go.

Re: Happy Endings
As long as they kept it in, I'm good. It contains some off Kander's best music. And Ebb's peerless lyrics.
By the way, what do YOU do? You won't believe it. Try me. I produce.
Also: you should be starred in a Broadway show.
Yes, I know.
They're IN. THE STARS. FOR MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

I really can't wait to hear what they do with "Happy Endings", because if they screw that up, they are doomed.

"stilll curious as to what kind of approach they're taking to the material, given that the original was less a "love letter to New York City" and more like a fevered ransom note sent by an obsessive stalker."
Fascinating observation, as the film is the main reason I moved to (and still live in) Ney York City.

loud noises in Sweeny Todd? Mar 24

It sounds like (I have not seen this yet) that any gunshot sound is less threatening than Ms. Ashford's vocals.

The 1977 film "New York, New York" was not, and has never been, considered a "colossal disaster."
Colossal disasters don't get theatrical re-releases with 11 minutes of restored footage four years later. Nor do they have month-long , extended sold-out runs at revival houses decades later (see: Metrograph) or repeated bookings at Quentin Tarantino's New Beverly Cinema in LA. Or, to underline this, uncut airings on TCM almost every year, usually in p

I love the movie, and "Liza and DeNiro" had plenty of chemistry in it.
:Perhaps you should save your money on this and go see Shazam 2.

Mr. Ryan has considerable sex appeal and he unquestionably sings beautifully.
A bit early for bashing, isn't it?

I hope the creatives are aware of how much of a cult exists for the film. I've seen it over 100 times. I love its defiance (which doomed it at the box office), the look of it, ALL the music, the in-your-face DeNiro, and of course, the sublime Liza Minnelli.
So far, I'm psyched. A big hint for me was the continued use of "major chord" in the new song Music, Money, Love.
