Saw a preview of the set and it looks simple and pretty with the lighting extending out into the audience. 

Hilty is giving a true comedic powerhouse performance. And the vocals. I think she'll def be nominated. But also Rogers is truly giving a star performance, and opening closer to the Tonys she might ride that high. We'll see how NYC receives this Sunset.

Saw the show in London so curious what effects were kept from the longer version. How does Act 1 end?

Anyone gone in the first week?

Yeah there’s a pivotal scene that takes place on a catwalk, but just depends how they stage it for the Marquis. 

I feel like Sher's direction kind of peaked? 

Great staging, but I thought Act 2 was a complete bore. Loved Act 1. And I love Passion and Bounce. I'd be curious to see how this changes for London. I don't think the staging would work in that giant theater unless it's playing the smaller space.

I know this won’t be, but I wish it was going to be a massive production given how much $$ it’s likely to make. 

I mean it is not an out of left field thing. I’m sure it’s a giant pay bump because it’s a lead role, so the out isn’t surprising. Everyone in the industry knew it was going to close sooner rather than later, so I’m sure all of it was in the works for awhile. It’s a business. This things happen.

Don’t they typically announce the full company on the day of the first rehearsal?

I saw in Chicago and I don’t remember really anything about it. Felt very “meh.” But then I listened to the score again and fell in love. 

Broadway is different. This will do well on tour. 

I wonder how the rain will work on tour though.
