THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES musical will have pre-Bway tryout this summer in Boston

Chenoweth will star in the Stephen Schwartz-Lindsey Ferrentino musical from July 16-August 18 at Boston’s Emerson Colonial.

I will definitely making the trip up this summer to see this. Emerson is my alma mater and I simply love the Colonial. Such a gorgeous theatre. 

There’s a few days when this will be running at the same time as Gatsby at ART

Yeah it is very strange that they left him out of the headline in the press release. He's friggin' Oscar winner for chrissake.

Anyone else surprised at this? After the last announcement, that this was in the works, I wasn't expecting it so soon! (But, truth be told, it's possible I hadn't been reading things as carefully as needed!)

I'm not sure that I would consider Schwartz a particularly campy composer, aside from maybe Godspell.

For those looking to travel during the overlap weekend with Gatsby, I’d suggest: start looking at hotels now. Several big music tours are coming in that week and hotel prices are already pretty high as a result.

This workshop had very mixed reactions.  Several investors left the project after it.  We will see ...

Pre-sale has started, for anyone that has limited availiblity to attend.  It's certainly selling, but nothing crazy.  A few dates are listed as "limited" but none as low.  (Opeining night appears to only have made the balcony available for sale.)

Prices range from 40 (rear balcony) to almost 300 (which include a "package".   I got two front row mezz tickets for 315 total, including fees.  (139 base price.)  It's a pretty big place, 1700 seats.
