It would seem Natalie's post was deleted and other Instagram stories hinted that Simard did perform tonight.

Edit: just saw above!

Hilty & Simard to lead DEATH BECOMES HER in Chicago spring 2024

I saw this last night, Friday, and 90% loved it. It has a few pacing issues, particularly in the second act, but overall this has what it needs to be a huge hit and had the audience in the palm of its hand from the start.

Hilty and Simard are borderline perfection. "All For The Gaze/Gays" is the showstopper everyone made it out to be. I found Williams to be captivating. I know I might be in the minority here, but I loved the opening number. "Siempre Viva" was anothe

Caught the show this past Saturday night June 18 for the first time since January 2020 and I have to say I think I loved it even more this time around. The original cast is still bringing it - especially Sahr who is just mesmerizing. Shoutout to the Lady M’s and especially Arianna Rosario who was on for Arabia. Ensemble is fire and the spark is still there.

Eric Anderson puts on an incredible performance and I absolutely adored Derek Klena and Ashley Loren. I thought everyt

I saw them in Naples and thought of the 4 companies I’ve seen (Broadway, Chicago, Philip Tour in Tampa) the Angelica company was uniformly the strongest. Also much of the cast has been in several companies, so I don’t think casting is to blame. Entitled to your opinion though of course!

Also, I know it’s way too early to talk about any replacements, but I would pay full price again to hear Jackie Burns sing “Forgiven”.

Saw the show tonight, Friday 1/24. It’s undeniable the energy in the theatre is electric and the Broadhurst has a hit on it’s hands.

That being said, I truly felt about 80% of it worked. Stanley is a force. Hope she is recognized come awards season. Big shoutout to the whole supporting cast, particularly Krill, Klena, and Gallagher. People have said Klena’s character feels too small, but besides Krill, I sympathized with him most.

I will say I can’t help but agree with previou

I saw the show last night 1/23. Went in without knowing much of the music besides anything they’ve performed on TV. Absolutely incredible. A year into their Broadway run (and many who have been with it years before that), the energy is still electric. I loved the opening number and the introduction of everyone. Really gets the audience involved right away.

Nothing much more can be said about the top notch cast. DeShields is legendary. Page is chilling. Grey should have walked away with

Issues at Mean Girls last night

This is a bummer to read. Saw her last year and she was great (although saw Olivia Kaufmann recently who was just as great!)

Random question about Broadway pits while we're kind of at it. This may sound silly, but do conductors and musicians use any sort of click track to keep tempo or is it completely set by the conductor?

Renee Rapp in Mean Girls

I saw her last weekend (having seen Louderman as well) and was blown away. I can’t wait to see what she does next.
Is Mean Girls in danger of closing?

I know the grosses have been low this month, but was this not similar to other shows like Newsies, Matilda, and Billy Elliot this far into their run? I remember Matilda grossing only about 600K at this point and went on for 2 more years. I know it’s hard to make comparisons and it could be wishful thinking, but I hope they at least have 1 more summer in them. I saw the show this past weekend and it has held up incredibly well. Particularly loved Renee Rapp.
Mean Girls Cast Replacements

Saw the matinee on Saturday and seeing it with the original cast last year. The show has held up amazingly. Renee Rapp is a star. Her Regina was powerful. I can't wait to see what she does in the future. We had Becca Peterson on for Cady and Olivia Kauffmann on for Janis (both great!) Hope to make it back again next year and looking forward to seeing the tour cast!

I would love to see Akron Watson, Nikki Renee Daniels, and Paris Nix join the Broadway company after Chicago closes (or any of the other companies!) The current Chicago cast is amazing, but those 3 are top rate.

Paris Nix was great! His Jefferson was spot on. His Lafayette very funny. Although I will say "Guns and Ships" was hard to understand if you don't already know the lyrics (although I've had this probably with each Lafayette I've seen). The song really is just SO fast.

Saw the Chicago cast tonight 8/1 for the first time having seen Broadway (last year) and Philip Tour (earlier this year) and found this cast to be uniformly the strongest. Absolute standouts were Akron Watson as Aaron Burr, Nikki Renee Daniels as Angelica, and Aubin Wise as Peggy/Maria. Robert Ariza who was on for Hamilton was great as well. All the leads were strong and I hope with the upcoming closing we see many of them in other productions of Hamilton! The ensemble was also prob

Six reviews

Just out of the Chicago performance tonight. It really is a special show and I hope these six ladies get to take the show to Broadway. We had an understudy for Catherine of Aragon - Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert who I believe is on for the remainder of Chicago. I have to say the standout for me was Courtney Mack as Katherine Howard (of all the songs I found “All You Wanna Do” to have the most layers), although the cast is uniformly strong.

I HATE saying this, but the audienc
