If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

Idk if it's just me, but the link didn't work?"
Very odd. I tried Googling, which returned a hit, but clicking the link returned "Not found". I also tried a search on The Observer's site and didn't get it there either. It seems to have been taken down.

"Michael Riedel...The Perez Hilton of the New York Theatre scene" - Craig Hepworth, What's On Stage
I LOVED Hadestown but some of what the Observer said was fair, there is a great deal or narrating and telling not showing. Calling any potential neurodivergent character essentially a Dear Evan Hansen wannabe is rich (guess there can only be one neurodivergent character on broadway at a time). I have no problem critiquing Reeve’s performance/acting choices but the comparison was so unprompted, the shows are so different. Also comparing Hadestown’s small, more adult fan base to the Be More Chill cult, misguided to say the least.

What they really should've done is bite the bullet and made Hades and Persephone the stars of the show and cut a lot of the young lovers stuff which they are never going to get to work properly without adding even more boring stuff. That way they could lose a whole heap of reprises and similar sounding tracks from Act 2 and make it a thrilling one act 90 minute show.
