I just watched the Renee's World Burn music vid or whatever that was lol, and I was just wondering if anyone had seen her in it and what were your opinions of her as Regina?
I thought that was a very awkward music video. It was way too obvious that she was lip syncing over a track. Perhaps that just due to her lack of experience in music video making, but it just didn’t do her justice I felt like. Regarding the music itself, she sounds amazing. I do think she’s copying Taylor a little too much, though.
As someone who is not a fan of the musical at all, I actually love this music video. It's the only song in the show that doesn't bastardize the original material into Disney Channel mush, and Renee sings it astoundingly.

I saw her and she was good! I've also seen Taylor and Ashley and they were both really great. Renee has different costumes (to better fit her body type?). Cool we have a recorded version of this but I wish they showed her throwing the papers and stuff.
Did you watch the Google Talks performance of "I See Stars?" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wNcPNi6boc8 (end of video) She does this riff at the end of the song that I don't remember her doing in the show but it was good. Also, the close-ups of Grey awkwardly behind Erika in this performance are funny.

i saw her during her short stint when taylor was doing kinky boots and holy god i was blown away. her world burn in character is so incredible. i've seen taylor, ashley and renee as regina, and renee's vocals just blew me out the water. i do agree that the world burn video was very staged and almost awkward, but if you have the chance to see her in the actual show, do it !!

I saw her 3 times now and my jaw is on the floor every time. For being only 19 she commands the stage like no others I've seen in any show.
I saw her last weekend (having seen Louderman as well) and was blown away. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

On the tour they changed I See Stars up a bit. Janis now sings with Cady for part of it.
I saw her two weeks ago in Mean Girls and she was terrific.
I'm shocked by all these good reviews on here. I saw her right after Taylor Louderman left the show, and was so underwhelmed. I thought her performance totally faded in the background for me. She didn't bite nearly as much as Regina needs to, but maybe that's just poor writing, and an under-developed character.
I saw her when Taylor was in Kinky Boots as well and absolutely loved her performance. She song the hell out of her songs, and was a good actress as well. I really hope other shows about high schoolers see her success and start casting actual teens.
Anyone happen to know when/if Rapp has upcoming vacation dates? I saw the OBC and would love to see the new cast in April. :)

saw both and to be honest Renee was much more believable because she iis a teenager ...she owned the stage and her voice is just on another level....Taylor is great but Renee is a teenager and looks like one which adds to it I think. ….oh did I say THAT VOICE live it is mind blowing
Renee just hits those notes differently. I like they are bringing in younger people in March and Renee just turned 20, so it all works. I never bought these 30 - 35 year old people as high school students.

Please tell me. Who in the original cast were 30-35 years old?

I’d just like to point out that you mentioned my main problem with this show. It’s got no bite. It seems to think it does, but it’s so much tamer and more generic than the original film.

At first her normal speaking voice threw me off-I have absolutely no idea why. But her voice, her range, her ability to hit those notes 8x a week is just astounding. They really struck gold when they cast her in the show!
