The Teeth producer screwed the pooch
 Jan 28 2025, 11:32:14 PM

Really?  Thats not what Andrew Rannells said.  He thought it would have a cult following, but didn’t think it would run very long.  I think that was the feeling a lot of people had just because of its niche subject matter.

The more famous and more deserving actor won in those cases.  In this case, Alyse would have been the underdog but the deserving one, and he would have made sure bigger names didn’t overshadow the award worthy performance.

That’s funny, I actually was going to mention Scott rudin.  He pulled through for Nikki m James and the only reason Mormon didn’t get leading actor was because Rannells and Gad split the vote. Rudin would have run rough shot over Audra and Nicole to get Alyse over the finish line.

With One Look was written for The Little Mermaid. It was supposed to be Ariel’s I want song.  Disney ended up going with Menken instead.

People said the same about Book of Mormon. And that thing has been running strong for 14 years now.

They squandered the opportunity to bring Teeth to Broadway.  All new musicals die at New World Stages.  A more skilled producer would have rode the wave from PH all the way to a small Broadway theatre this spring. They would have won musical, book, score, as well as leading actress EASY.  What a wonderful message that would have sent.  They truly robbed Alyse her Tony.  Teeth would have been an iconic Broadway moment that has now been reduced to cult off-Broadway

"As If We Never Said Goodbye" plagiarized?
 Jan 28 2025, 11:00:24 AM

Lloyd Webber starts the song with Sondheim's "Stay With Me" from Into the Woods, and ends it with Hamlisch's "What I Did for Love" from A Chorus Line.  Hmmm

DEAD OUTLAW To Open On Broadway April 27, 2025

I truly don’t understand the raves this musical has gotten.  I kept waiting for the action to start, but nothing ever happened.

Where was security to haul them out??  It looks like they were politely asked to leave the stage lol

I really hope the critics have a more discerning view of this musical when it comes to Broadway. I personally thought it was mostly a waste of space downtown.

I sat in the rear side orchestra for Swept Away and thought it was a pretty good seat.  It’s nice and high up.  Dead outlaw is such a small musical, I’d recommend the orchestra rather than the balcony.

Who should host the Tonys?
 Jan 27 2025, 10:13:45 PM

I would love to see Rosie O’Donnell or Whoopi Goldberg host again.  Kristin Chenoweth and Alan again. I agree, I want someone snarky.

Coming to Broadway visit May

SUNSET BLVD. Revival
 Jan 27 2025, 02:20:22 PM

She's performing on Colbert tonight.  Given this new round of press, they can barely make it to July, and you think someone else coming in is gonna make money?  Sunset was the big launch right out of the gate, Gypsy and Audra are playing this like Tom Brady.  Behind the entire game until you pull ahead in the last 30 seconds.  I fully expect Audra to be everywhere during Tony time, and will probably extend til Labor Day.
