HURT LOCKER Playbill (HEDWIG)
 May 27 2014, 02:28:29 PM
I saw a preview show in April and ended up being one of the people that he made out with! Super surprised and loved every second of it. Not sure if he does it in every show, or just the 10pm one. Never had that happen at a show before and likely never will again :)

If anyone has an extra I too will PayPal the playbill rate & postage. I saw none lying around during my preview show
Lady Day or Hedwig?
 Apr 30 2014, 04:47:10 AM
I actually did exactly that...Lady Day @ 8pm and then Hedwig at 10pm and made it in plenty of time. However I left as soon as applause ended for Lady Day and made a beeline for the Belasco. Also I agree with everyone else get the tickets before. i had my Hedwig ticket prior to getting out there, and by the grace of the theatre gods I got a cxl'd ticket for Lady Day, and this was while both were still in previews.

Two very different shows, both done by amazing performers, and worth ever

HURT LOCKER Playbill (HEDWIG)

I was at one of the previews during the week of 4/12 and didn't see any of them I will for sure buy one off someone (reasonable price) or donate $ to a favorite charity.

Which BTW does Hedwig make out with someone during every show? I was in row AA and totally (pleasantly) surprised when Hedwig made out with me mid song. Didn't see that one coming, and unforgettable.

You might be able to find a discount code. Got mine for $50 something and it was a great perfomance. So glad I went!!
Book of Mormon Audience Response Lately?
 Dec 16 2012, 05:02:35 AM
Saw it for the first time this past evening, the audience seemed to really enjoy it. I thought it was great, there were a few times when I couldn't understand what was being said, but overall I thought it was hilarious.

Do they change some of the names that Elder Cunningham uses for Nabulungi based on the location (ie: Nancy Pelosi). There was one other SF reference that Price used in one of the early songs about where they might be going on their missions. Wondering if they try to thr

Glengarry Glen Ross Previews

good to hear the previews sound awesome...I already bought my ticket for Nov. Coming out from Ca, planned an extra trip out around this show.
Glengarry Discount?
 Sep 30 2012, 03:43:53 PM
I'm going out this fall partly to see this play, but I'm assuming it won't have any discount tickets. I figure if it does I'll be pleasantly surprised.
DINER cast?
 Sep 30 2012, 04:59:14 AM
Well apparently they're retooling the show because those of us who were supposed to get tickets for the out of town preview in SF got notice that we wouldn't be. Supposedly it "may" come out here in the spring after its off Broadway? Seems unlikely unless it goes on tour--guess we'll see.
Once Seating Question
 Sep 20 2012, 12:00:22 AM
Got my tickets thru TKTS (the booth not online) last Thurs for 30% off, got into line about 2:30 and had tickets in hand by about 3:20. Totally LOVED the show!
Once ticket deal
 Sep 13 2012, 02:42:08 PM
Theres a 2 for 1 deal on Once tickets but I only need one ticket. Does anyone want to split the cost and take the other ticket for tonight? Haven't purchased yet just want to see if anyone is interested. Not looking to make a profit, just split the cost.
BROADWAY OR BUST - PBS
 Sep 10 2012, 10:14:50 PM
I'm actually watching it right now as I'm reading this....I think what's been said about it not necessarily being a group of "the best" teens in America is a fair assessment. While Nick (the kid who sang with Michael Feinstein) is from the Bay Area it seems like HS theatre isn't hugely competitive here.

As for the kids being slightly annoying, they're theatre kids, they tend to be slightly eccentric that goes with the territory. They're not refined yet, they will be soon.

I do

Audra returns to Porgy and Bess

Besides sounding like a total gossip what do you hope to prove? That you have some sort of insider info? That you just dislike her? That someone else was more deserving of the role?

Like it or not you're the one who started this thread so you're the one who is going to be expected to prove your point and answer to your claims. You know nothing of me, but yes I deal with egos on a regular basis, and no the egos I deal with don't get on stage. But the egos I deal with ARE a matter of lif

I'm sorry but "behind the scenes" you're just coming across as a whiny coworker who's airing your dirty laundry. If you have something to say to her then say it to her face, but having an anonymous screen name and posting it on a broadway forum doesn't make you a badass. We all have coworkers we don't like to deal with, get over it---
Rachel York and Chuck Wagner in Anything Goes Tour

Saw Sutton twice, and looking forward to seeing this production in SF soon. This is one of my all time favorite shows....
Anyone ever experienced a major audience emergency/problem in the middle of a show???
 Aug 29 2012, 04:39:42 AM
kind of always afraid of something like this happening only because I'm an ER nurse and I feel obligated to help. I'd be afraid to make a scene yet wouldn't want to NOT be of service especially since I kinda know what to do (at least until the paramedics get there). Its different on a plane or at the store where its not a big deal to speak up but to possibly disrupt a show, or have a whole bunch of people watching me do CPR? Yeah tough one.

Still wouldn't stay seated, would help the p

Intermissionless Shows
 Aug 29 2012, 04:27:35 AM
I saw Les Mis last week in SF for the first time, and the intermission was approx 2/3 of the way in. It was sorta odd because the show kept going and I was starting to wonder how long the show would be since its usually 1/2 way through. Thankfully it didn't end up being a 4 hour show.

Driving Miss Daisy had no intermission and it was just fine. I too need to stretch my legs, I've had several surgeries but luckily I'm short so often I can make myself comfortable despite the cramped seat

Cheap hostels in NYC
 Aug 16 2012, 04:25:02 PM
I've stayed at The Jane several times. Its not bad, off season I believe its $100 a night, $125 ish a night for peak season. Shared bathrooms, air conditioned rooms. I never had to wait for a shower or bathroom though. I was traveling across country quite a bit so it was fairly economical.
Did anyone figure out who
 Aug 15 2012, 04:40:48 AM
Yeah I really want to know too...I read that whole thread. Clearly I need to go to bed, but I just got off work and after investing the 10 minutes to read all of that the curiosity is getting the best of me :)
Advice Needed - JFK vs. Laguardia Airport
 Aug 9 2012, 05:44:47 PM
its been my experience that ground transportation from La Guardia tends to be cheaper than from JFK. Being from the Bay Area flying in is my only option, if I fly Virgin from SFO I can only fly into JFK which sucks. I prefer La Guardia too.
