Mr. Wormwood said: "It's interesting that there hasn't been a rush of end of summer closings this year like some years. The only unplanned closing in July or Aug was The Who's Tommy, right? A lot of shows are still making a go of it."

I'm still salty about losing Tommy earlier than Labor Day, don't remind me.

Heading into the summer I honestly thought BTTF would do similar business to Aladdin and then continue to skate by

Cellino v. Barnes @ Asylum NYC
 Aug 18 2024, 04:32:19 PM

I saw this a few weeks ago and it was just the right amount of stupid for me to have a great time. The build up to the jingle is palpable and I still chuckle when I think of Cellino opening and closing the safe. I love that there is a full line of merch for this silly show too.

Not trying to be disparaging, but those BTTF numbers make me question how it will manage to get through the fall to the holidays. I was told by a solid source that Boop! was very interested in the Winter Garden, but when they announced the Broadhurst I thought well, BTTF is safe to continue skirting by (for now).
Complete CAROUSEL cast recording on its way

I actually really enjoy the Oklahoma! recording because of Hackmann and Parker, but this rendition is underwhelming to my ears. It's fine, but I don't think Nate is quite the right fit for Billy Bigelow. And am I hallucinating or did I have a track of Anthony Warlow performing "Soliloquy" on an old iPod? I'm going to have to dig that out.

GODOT on Broadway starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter

I just screamed. I can't believe this is real. At least I have some time to start a slush fund to afford this.
TAMMY FAYE will transfer to Broadway in 2024-2025 Season

I was low-key kind of hoping Varla would transfer with this because I love his Judas but Cerveris gets me to buy tix too.

Chernow moved into the Dakota this spring so those royalties worked out for him.

I haven't seen BTTF up since earlier this month (July 4th weekend). I can't imagine it won't be listed again this fall but know that the in-person rush is pretty easy to do. I was able to get a $40 rush ticket in the rear orch for Hugh Coles' final performance on June 23rd a few minutes after the box office opened t

It has been on TKTS during the week at around $130 a ticket. The orchestra partial view seats at $59 are quite a good value if they are available.

Only interested if Hamish Linklater returns as Sir Andrew Aguecheek.

TOMMY To Close on July 21, 2024

I pray Ali's future is brighter than singing "Hey #2."

Chess crossed my mind but this is a special and sexy voice that I hope can tackle something new.

I was there. It was electric. Des gave a lengthy speech at the end.  All the best to this cast, especially Ali. I cannot wait to see what he does next.

I'm surprised this property hasn't been adapted already. I love the movie. If I flip past TCM and it's on I'll always stop and watch.

Last 2 weeks and I figure last week is going to be sold out so trying to go but not sure what day. Figure weekend is worse seats?
"

I recently sat Row H house right mezz via TDF and the view was good. Lotto tickets as of this Wednesday mat are still extreme partial view (at least it was easy to move to a better seat at intermission) so definitely go the TDF route.

Horror On Broadway?

I wish I was alive to see the production of Dracula with the Edward Gorey set. I'll take either Langella or Julia, I really just want to see that set in person ...

I'd love a recording, PLEASE!
"

Yes, yes, yes! I was a bit too young to have seen the original production but I have the making of book and the OBC cast album has always been in rotation as cassette tapes,
