Is Satine really gone at the end of the play?  Feb 18 2024, 06:06:23 PM

Very dead.

She's asleep
Taking the big nap
She's gone
She has left the building
Resting in peace
Slipped away quietly
Got a one-way ticket
Went to the lone couch of everlasting sleep
She has cashed in her chips
It's her final curtain call
She has become living-challenged or living-impaired
She is trending towards a state of chemical equilibrium
She has become a root inspector
Bought a pine condo

New Look for BroadwayWorld!  May 4 2023, 01:43:22 PM

On desktop (safari) the top menu disappears when scrolling down and you have to scroll back up to get it back. I'd suggest that it stays regardless of direction.

Seth Rudetsky's new book is FABULOUS  May 4 2023, 01:38:54 PM

dramamama611 said: "Your last paragraph totally negates looking into this book. (For me)"

Couldn't agree more. As someone who just published a book (not about Broadway), my co-authors and I worked hard to make sure errors were corrected and an outside proofreader picked our work apart. I don't understand why someone with Seth's level of visibility (which is much higher than ours) would allow an unfinished or unedited work to be published. It's not a g

AEA May Strike National Tours April 13  Apr 7 2023, 10:06:13 PM

Lola Getz2 said: "How would the ticket holders for cancelled shows be handled? Does anyone know? Refunds? I am sure it might be different for each location, but was curious as to how the venues would deal with a blow like this."

I would presume it will vary by market but like with the Covid delays/cancellations I would bet they will try to get us to keep a credit and hope for a re-scheduled date or that we would apply to a future season.

AEA May Strike National Tours April 13  Apr 4 2023, 02:40:20 PM

For those of you directly affected/attached to this, what do you feel the likelihood of a strike is at the deadline? Is there a feeling that negotiations are continuing in good faith or at a stand-still?

Broadway Channel part of Sirius XM Layoffs.  Mar 27 2023, 04:26:24 PM

Critifur2 said: "I think Sunday Funday with John Tartaglia has already been deleted off SiriusXM, but there has been no notification of such anywhere, including simple social media posts. Just gone."

Still listed for Sundays on the Sirius/XM website for the channel. Was the show not on this past week? I'm on a ship presently so can't listen.

If I could choose a seat I would probably go a few rows back, but it's an intimate story that does benefit from being up close."

Thank you so much!

Question for those who have seen it - how high is the stage? Getting tickets and have BB or A center orchestra available but A is premium. Worth the extra? Thanks in advance.

Broadway Channel part of Sirius XM Layoffs.  Mar 9 2023, 05:54:29 PM

As someone who worked in radio for over 25 years, I think the most likely scenario is they cut the talent but not necessarily the channels. They could easily automate a Broadway channel with just music, no shows. Many terrestrial radio stations now feature pre-recorded voice tracking, often done in other cities, and those DJs sometimes voice 6-7 stations across the country a day. I could see SIRIUS/XM doing something similar. They already share talent across several channels as it is.

2023-2024 Touring Season  Jan 27 2023, 04:12:43 PM

Houston announces February 17th for BAA.

TUTS (Theatre Under the Stars) will announce March 9th. They've already confirmed 1776 as an add-on (something new for them, as they usually do subscription shows only). The other add-on is UGLY X-MAS SWEATER THE MUSICAL, written by their artistic director Dan Knechtges. Their seasons are usually a mix of locally-produced and tours. Their holiday show will be R&H's CINDERELLA (locally produced) in December 2023, and I'm 99.9% sur
