re: A Standing O in the middle of a show? May 12

The only one I've ever witnessed (which seems to be the most experienced in this thread) is after Patti LuPone's "Roses Turn" at City Center this summer. It was literally a defining moment in my life. Absolutely unbelieveable. The applause went on for at least 3 minutes

Hunchback of Notre Dame Video Jan 19
2008, 05:27:09 PM
Ths is something I found on YouTube. It's absolutely beautiful. (I want to add that I have never actually cried about a musical online until this one... especially when they reprise "Someday" about half way through... if you know the story, and really pay attention to the lyrics... it will melt your heart) It's the finale to the Berlin production of Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame. I didn't know if anyone else had seen this and I just wanted to share it. I would kill to bring this to the states! Do you think Disney is hesitant because it's a little too dark for American audiences? Thoughts? http://youtube.com/watch?v=P3zhl2nUlpU

I personally think the ensemble of Legally Blonde absolutely deserved their award. One of the most energetic and entertaining ensembles I've seen in a show. Poppins and Spring Awakening have tight ensembles, too...

re: Would anyone else absolutely love to see Hocus Pocus as a musical? Dec 29

oh wow... I didn't even think of some of those before. I think Winifred should still be Patti LuPone, but with Annaleigh Ashford as Sarah and Mary Testa as Mary. That'd be perfect! What about Max, Binx, Allison, and Dani? They would be the other principles as well...

Would anyone else absolutely love to see Hocus Pocus as a musical? Dec 28

Sure, there are already witches on Broadway, but I think this could be such an insanely good show if translated appropriately. This is really just for fun... but imagine if the Sanderson sisters were something like this... Winifred - Patti LuPone Sarah - Sutton Foster Mary - Debra Monk

I agree with others: Kate Shindle as Elphaba would be the only reason I would ever see Wicked again... and then I would go completely broke. She would be a powerhouse of acting and singing!

Mean Girls: The Musical? Aug 6
2007, 09:10:55 PM
okay so I don't know if this is just a rumor or a true project in the works. some of my good friends within the industry were saying that mean girls is highly being considered for a Broadway musical adaptation? I can see happiness and grief with this. yes, movies into musicals are getting a bit excessive, but I personally love this movie and am intrigued to see what would happen. also, they briefly mentioned the devil wears prada as another movie. true or false?
