Re: OTHER DESERT CITIES reviews (Hudson) - Louis-Dreyfus, Harris, Janney, Keery, and Rabe

Those are mixed reviews that even the performances can't be a consensus. Many reviews liked Dreyfus, but many big ones disliked her like Time Out, Vulture and The Wrap. Janney seems lost, barely any positive notice. No trip crown for her, right? I think this will blank come tony nominations day.

Wonder if Janney can repeat Judith Light's Tony win? I won't be able to see this production as I'm only goin on may to NY.

I had a blast back in may, and honestly thought they would get way worse grosses for this broadway run, may they have a good life on tour or whatsever.

they said that tickets eligible are $150+, that means there will be cheaper options they just won't be able to give you access to the Roberts' play.

I imagine those seats will be over $500 if they are offering $400 for both as a ''special offer''

Wow at those numbers for EBT, didn't know Tracee would be so bad as a draw. Taraji otherwise... wow! Great figures for a show with so little spark during Tony season. SIX has to fold.

Kad said: "It still needs to be grossing substantially more weekly in order to recoup in the next several years. That is its major hurdle now: a lot of debt and a high running cost."Yes, I heard LOST BOYS costs around 1M or slightly more for the weekly cost so that 1.4M on summer is not gonna be enough.

Why wasn’t Rebecca Luker nominated for her Maria in The Sound of Music?

Jun 26, 2026 — 11:59:24 AM

I've seen TSOM two times in Brazil and while interesting, the movie musical is absolutely better. It's just a musical that the scope of visuals serves up way better than the stage, and also Andrews is so definitive as Maria, but I look forward to see the LCT revival.

A lot of theaters are going to be vacant in the coming months - any idea of what’s going where?

Why wasn’t Rebecca Luker nominated for her Maria in The Sound of Music?

Jun 23, 2026 — 12:52:28 PM

Betty Buckley got nominated for a flop show as the sole nomination of the show was either a big name check or Luker was in a really bad production.

James Hameed and Arti Shah are likely special Tony winners because I doubt the Tonys will do anything close to Olivers did

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 6/7/26

Oh, Maybe Happy Ending is not gonna last long with these numbers. And I'm kinda gagged at how much word of mouth affected Dog Day and how much Brody was not enough to sell Fear of 13.Salesman numbers are incredible.

Post-Tony Thoughts

I think ''Schmigadoon!'' is far away better than ''The Outsiders'' and ''Moulin Rouge!'' so even tho it was a thin season, it's not even the second worst win of this decade to me.But again, I was a FAN of the TV show. For the ''shortest winner of Best Musical'', both STRANGE LOOP and PASSION ran about the same amount of performance (280-290) and same time (April-May til Jan next year) so this will likely be the same case.

This was a very important Tony for me because for the first time ever I was able to see every nominee in the musical categories, and what a fun show!P!nk had me in that amazing opening number, one of the best that this ceremony ever produced, she had some hiccups but overall great energy. Most of the new musicals gave very little interested performances, but all 3 revivals were amazing. With that being said, CHICAGO was just magical.I was not a fan of RAGTIME winning but I loved the production ...
