Porter sounds like a big downgrade from Orville...
Updated On: 6/18/25 at 12:05 PMJust let it die with Orville and Eva. Why we gotta drag this out?
This should close with Orville and Eva. This Billy/Marisha pairing won’t do a thing for their box office and I suspect an earlier closing than October. What a disappointment this revival ended up being.
The October closing makes sense considering how extensive the conversion back to how it was will be. If they closed in January the August Wilson wouldn’t have been ready in time for a spring opening.

What are the chances Cats takes this house? Is Cats strictly looking at Shubert houses?
Surprised they didn't just close the show. Porter's attendance in UK wasn't good and his reviews & word-of-mouth were mixed.

Could it be ready for a spring opening ?
Got to see this revival with Redmayne, and though I enjoyed myself, my opinion soured a bit some days later.
Not a bad run.

Marisha is great and I’m pleased for her but Billy Porter LOL.
He was dreadful in London as was his attendance.

I mean … they lost a sh*t ton of money. Pretty bad run, if you ask the producing team.
Maybe they can keep the conversion for The JELLICLE Ball?
I’m THRILLED Marisha is coming home and is gonna get her flowers. Billy…is just part of the package I suppose.
I absolutely loved both Billy Porter and Marisha in 'Cabaret'. What a fine and exciting cast to close this revival.
No way will this survive till October. It’s such a stretch. They should of just closed it. I guess Billy won’t be attending PTown this year
I saw him in London. He wasn't good. What a terrible way to end the run.
Aw yeah happy for Marisha- what an emotional homecoming.
I've heard this is where Cats is going.
Again, Billy is supposed to be filming Hunger Games in what I believe is not a small role next month. Is he going to be scheduled to be out a good chunk of this run?
Also LOL to the guy who emphatically said it wasn't them.
I fear if the producing team went through the message boards here they could’ve had 50 pairs of emcees and Sally’s to last until 2077
Forever gutted we won’t see Gerard Way’s emcee on broadway
I wouldn’t have been able to see it but what could’ve been😔

I hope they keep some version of the current configuration.
It appears this production will have played 18 previews and 624 regular performances at the time of closing.
Marisha was fantastic. Billy was Billy. Like said earlier, it’s a shame this isn’t closing with the Orville, the best Emcee.

I counter your Orville Peck card with my Fra Fee card

If Cats is going there theres literally no reason not to. I imagine they'll just get rid of the stage seating so they can put the windows in.

I wonder how much money they lost. Everything and more?

Ok that’s TOTALLY fair. In my original thoughts right after I saw Orville here I wrote he was ALMOST as good as Fra but I’ve seen him more than once now and love him so much he’s at least tied with him, now. F*ck it’s a shame they couldn’t get Fra over here.
