This is a subject that I have a lot of personal interest in. The most notable example of a star having Jewish holidays written into their contract was Dudu Fisher, an Israeli cantor who played Jean Valjean on Broadway and the West End. Being a Shabbat-observant Orthodox Jew, he had an understudy for all Friday night, Saturday and Jewish Holiday performances. I'd love to make a case for some awesome Canadian writers whose work might be lesser known internationally. While several Canadian shows have made it to the Great White Way (Anne of Green Gables, Drowsy Chaperone, Story of My Life), the majority remains our little secret.

Hey guys,
Just a quick shill here. Sheet music for the songs I co-wrote are finally available for purchase. Over the past few years I've had a few people on the BWW contact me asking me about buying sheet music for songs I wrote that I've uploaded to YouTube or our website.
My awesome composing partner Colleen has been plugging away getting those ready for sale, and creating a kick-ass store for our website. We tried to pick some songs that would be good for auditions, cabarets, concerts and masterclasses. I genuinely believe she influenced the fabric (no pun intended) of the American musical more than she'll ever get credit for. She will be missed, but her contributions and legacy will live on for a very long time.

Thanks for the advice thusfar.Broadwaybox has great deals on the more expensive seats, but they still don't work out as affordable as the cheaper seats. But definitely a great resource to know about.

I am particularly saddened by this news because I had some friends in final callbacks to take over for some lead roles if the run was extended till January. Sadly I won't get to see them in those roles now.
Best of luck to the talented cast...can't wait to see them all in other shows.

Its been a rough week for the Toronto theatre community. While I didn't know her very well, I have seen her a few times in shows around town and share many mutual friends who spoke very highly of her. Thoughts are with her friends and family.

West Side Story at Stratford was superb, but I don't know how well a transfer of any sort would translate. The use of the thrust stage was really a huge a part of the magic, and how everyone dealt with that.

No Way! her album is titled after a track she recorded from a show called Variations on a Nervous Breakdown...of which I was the Set and Costume Designer for the original production. I love that song. Go Canada!
