Lea Michele, Aaron Tveit, and Nicholas Christopher in 2025 Chess Revival!
 Jul 16 2025, 12:34:22 PM

This isn't getting much buzz, is it?  I've got my tickets ready, but am surprised there aren't more social media posts, or other "buzz" regarding this.  With the lack of updates, and the bad photoshop/color choices on websites, I'm a pinch worried about this.

They HAVE to get it right this time, or the press will have a field day! cheeky

Was this a limited engagement? It seemed to be selling very well, was surprised it closed so quickly.
Is this something that could tour? Or work in regional theater?  I so want to see this so very badly!

I adore the music and score from Chess.  As a Benny and Bjorn fan, I found it enthralling. However, I have seen two local productions of the show and was bored and confused out of my mind.

One was at the Alliance Theater, and they pumped a lot of money into it. The vocals, the score were excellent, but people were fidgeting in the second act, and just leaving.

Given that the show has a cult following of sorts now, and the music is highly regarded, I would think this is a on

SUNSET BLVD. Revival
 Jun 26 2025, 07:26:32 AM

I know this is scheduled to close, and there haven't been any official announcements about what is "next" with it, if anything.

Is there absolutely no way this show could tour, do they not want to do that?  Are the video screens too "large"?  Aside from the video screens, there isn't much set, does it not seem like it would be easy to pickup and move from city to city?

Boop Closing July 13
 Jun 26 2025, 07:24:34 AM

Congratulations to all on a successful closing!  This will, apparently, bring a certain someone a lot of joy. Kudos and  congrats!

I do think this will do well on tour, it will attract the senior crowd who "knows" Betty Boop, musical fans, and those who just want some pleasant "fluff".  I can't wait to see it...on tour.

After spending 4 hours on the presale - timing out, security codes NOT being sent to my phone or email before Telecharge told me to start over, freezing, this and that I finally got tickets for Nov 1, 730PM.  I wanted to come well before Christmas hotel rates kicked in, but now that I got my tickets, am seeing the hotel rates are insane. I guess I will just fly in Saturday morning, then out on Sunday morning.  I suppose I will stay near the airport.  Other thought -- is it a ha

Was that the Netherlands version slightly more recently, did I read of that?

Seb28 said: "The original was majestic compared to the woke, feminist, racist, men-hating glassesthat Schele Williams was wearing when creating the recent revival.

"And then you start to question why Radames was ever with her since the power of royalty never seemed to appeal to him"

I wish questions like these were still relevant. In this latest version he wasn't even with Amneris nor with Aida. They didn't need men.

Williams butchered all character arcs, texts, storylines, build-up of the show, the songs, everything. She demoted the book.

Spiderman-Turn Off The Dark:  After all that went on during this production, I just had to see the show for myself.

We thought it was a lot of fun, like a rock concert / train wreck, you just couldn't look away.surprise

Bridges of Madison County- gorgeous.

Hard to blame mrshowbiz at this point. They are clearly unstable and you all still engage! Remarkable.

RUMOR: Cynthia Erivo-lead Jesus Christ Superstar at Hollywood Bowl to be Broadcast on TV???
 Apr 1 2025, 06:53:55 AM

This would be just amazing. Insanely so.  But it would create a social media firestorm, trust me. In todays political climate, I am being force fed anti LGBTQ crap on facebook. Recently there was a cutesy photo shoot of Cynthia with Janelle Monet (spelling?) they were posing for pics, laughing, and there was a primary pic of them kissing for the camera.  It was cute.

The comments on the post were in the 10's of thousands and the anti gay and racist commentar

Well, I gave in and came back to NYC.

I thought BOOP! was a lot of fun.  Jasmine is mega-talented, and an absolute joy to watch. She lights up the theater!

Trust me, after the dark Sunset Blvd (which I think I liked-not sure yet lol -still kind of shook), and the disappointing Redwood,  this sort of lighthearted show was warranted.

It was silly and stupid and just....lovely fun.

Idina played Atlanta just a few months ago, and sounded great!

I saw this in Atlanta during development a few times.  Sherrie and Heather were phenomenal.  The Radames fellow, not so much.  Later I saw the show a few times on Broadway, and it was improved upon.  I **LOVED** the reincarnation theme at the end, much improved on the wonky Atlanta ending.

I would SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO love a revival of this!
