re: Wicked Question- Problems with it.. Aug 15

I agree with Elphaba3. Wicked won't go down as a Phantom of the Opera type show in the history books, but it does have a moving story and broad appeal. And no, I'm not a "fangirl" as you guys call them. I'm a serious Oz collector who's followed the show since the day it was announced. In all, I think the main reason people on this board don't like the show is because it's popular. AND those same people probably know all the words to the song of the same name, but just don't want to admit it. Kinda like those same people who still have Spicegirls or NSync or Hanson hidden on their iPods but won't admit it

re: What musical movies should be remade? Aug 15
2009, 10:50:40 AM
ICAM with Dayao - The Wizard of Oz can't be topped in my book. They've tried...ever seen the one with the muppets and Ashanti? Or Return to Oz? Or The Wiz...that one just scares me! LOL I'd love to see a movie version of Wicked, but I'd hope it'd stick more to the musical script than the book. I think a movie of the book would turn out more like the Tin Man thing that was on the Sci Fi chanel. As for movies that SHOULD be remade, my top vote goes to Thoroughly Modern Millie. I'd

CRAWW - you totally made me laugh out loud! Gotta love a drug-addicted Jessie Spano. Has anyone seen the T-Shirt that says that? It's got a bottle of caffine pills on it.

re: What's your best guess - how long will Ragtime stay on Bway? Aug 4

I've been a bit out of the loop lately! I didn't know this was headed back to Broadway. Is there any cast info or anything out about it yet? I'll google it, but I'm sure people will post here before I can do a search! LOL I love the show. I think it is one of the most moving theatre pieces I've ever seen. Even seeing it multiple times, I cried every time when little Colehouse comes out at the end. I can't help, but have high hopes for it on Broadway. Maybe it'll stay long enough

"Hey, we all have our biases. Mine was Ave Q winning. But I'm over it now. Mostly. No, Really, I FRICKIN AM OVER IT!!! And so will you, one fine day..." Want a paddle? I'm still in that boat, too. I still haven't seen Ave. Q, but I have come to appreciate some of it's songs, like "I wish I could go back to college" b/c in this economy it's truer than true.

"I miss the solid Tony Award opening numbers, like the 58th Tony Awards broadcast in 2004 with Hugh Jackman. It was clear, concise and to the point. It introduced all of the shows without any crowding and clear sound. It was catchy, clever, and quite the eyeful." Was that when he sang "One Night Only"? I thought that was a great openning number! And then there was the bit with Kristin in the bubble. I mean, I could've done with a lot less Guys 'n Dolls and West Side Story and a lot m

Apparently I'm not the ONLY one who thought 9 to 5 should've won SOMETHING! The director switched to the Dolly camera instead of the winner for best score. If I lived anywhere NYC, I think I'd be an Allison Janney groupie...j/k Seriously, tho, what's so special about Billy Elliot? Before you jump down my throat, I have not seen it, but that performance tonight did anything BUT make me want to see it.

re: THE LITTLE MERMAID Reviews Jan 11

I don't know what to think about all the reviews. And (as I am in Georgia), it will probably be a long time before I get to NYC to see the show. I hate to think that they ruined what I consider the 2nd best Disney Movie of all time (Beauty and the Beast is first for me). Just looking at the pictures, I was a bit disappointed...I mean, Sebastian has a crap on his head! Either make him a crab or give him the red suit and the impression of a crab, but don't put one on his head! I agree about t

"Sweet Child" sounds like "Dear Boy" from Candide! (I had to switch computers to make it work...the stream didn't like the old version of iTUnes)

Did anyone else get that email about buying the Showbusiness DVD? It said something about forwarding your receipt to get a poster. I just bought the DVD on AMazon.com, but I don't have the email anymore. Does anyone know what it is? ~Melissa

re: It's been a year without her... Jul 18

It's been exactly two years ago yesterday that I sat on the SECOND row of the Gerswhin and watched Kristin rip off her fake eye lashes! There are two main things I remember about that day: 1. Me crying during Popular b/c that meant that the show was almost half over (and that I'd be heading back to GA the following day) and 2. When KC's bed didn't come out for Popular, Idina said something like "For Heaven's sake, it's the girl's second to last day! Give her a

Aladdin - DEFINITELY! It was in the set of movies (Little Mermaid through Lion King) that were written LIKE broadway musicals, so it would be an easy trasition to the stage. They also already have a children's theatre version already circulating; the kids at my local theatre are doing it in camp right now. James and the Giant Peach...not so much. If for no other reason than I really wouldn't want to watch a singing grasshopper for 2 hours :-P

Has anyone heard anything else about The Little Mermaid? I think they did a workshop or something, but who was in it?? I would love to see Eden as Ariel - I saw her in Wicked when she stood in for Idina. Also, I think Sara Ramirez would be a fabulous Ursula! She could crank out Poor Unfortunate Souls and then be transformed into the beautiful land Ursula. ~Melissa

re: 'Wicked'- 7/16 * Jul 28

Does anyone have any good pics of Kristin Chenoweth from July 16th??? I gave her a teddy bear on that night but I didn't get a pic of her looking at it or the bag (pink with Glitter on one side and Kristin on the other). My mom had my camera trying to get a pic of me and KC, but she was too short to get any good ones, so I don't have a pic of her opening it. If anyone has any pics, even if they aren't top quality, I would greatly appreciate it! Post them here, or email me @ p
