Eris - see I just don't like it without the Amber; good to know that she has something new coming out though. After all those years on The Bell and then on 90210 she really proved she can hold her own (mainly on the latter, as ridiculous as it got at times) in terms of acting. So it's just strange to see so many of those people not get work.
It's kind of how I feel about Lacey Chabert and Neve Campbell. I watched Party of Five like an addict and over the course of a bunch of years those two (along with a younger Jennifer Love Hewitt) really showed that they can handle anything. And yet other than some teen movies and horror films respectively, they haven't really done much since. The only alums from Po5 who really did anything are Matthew Fox (LOST) and the aforementioned Hewitt, although she is dreadfully misused on Ghost Whisperer (I know she's the star, I just mean that she can handle so much more than a weekly scarefest).
Same thing can kind of be said for Saved By The Bell. Gosselaar has been in a lot of stuff since then. Immediately following SBTB: The College Years, Thiessen moved on to 90210 (which was strange since she went from being at California University as Kelly in May of '94 to playing Valerie on Beverly Hills, a character who starts at California University the Fall of '94), but like I said she hasn't done much lately. Lark, Dustin...'nuff said. Mario Lopez has arguably the most fame of it, but really what has that got him? A replacement role in A Chorus Line? Replacing Sugar Ray on Extra?? Oh, and who could forget the legendary career jump for Jessie Spano. It's one thing to go from Nicey-Nice Kelly to Uber-Bitch Valerie like Thiessen did. Elizabeth Berkley went from feminist conservative good girl to a Showgirl. And even though it pretty much destroyed her career (except for First Wives Club and more recent things) I'm so glad she did, because as awful as Showgirls is it's still so camp and so wonderful.
Speaking of Elizabeth Berkley, I sooo want a shirt that says that I'm so Excited crap. I'm not sure how many of you watch Chelsea Lately, but when Berkley was on she re-did that line and it was just so fantastic. Seriously...some amazing times.
