Depends on the reviews/how well it sells in the beginning of it's run. It has good word of mouth coming from DC so I think it will do pretty well.

Depending on the critical reaction (which so far has been good), I give it at least until the end of the year. Beyond that is iffy. There were problems with the original (too many characters, too many story lines) that took the focus off the (presumably) main characters. The music's fine, however. But, so far, the musical revivals are Bye, Bye Birdie; Finian's Rainbow; and A Little Night Music. If any of them gets bona fide raves, the others may suffer. Finian's Rainbow has the advantage of not having been seen by too many younger theatregoers and I think its score will be a big selling point; Little Night Music is Sondheim and the cognescenti will be having orgasm over that. I suspect the most iffy will be Bye, Bye Birdie, considering the Roundabout's track record for reviving musicals from scratch. Am I forgetting any other revivals for the current season?

La Cage Aux Folles announced it was transferring in the spring (no word beyond that) and Babes in Arms announced that it intends to open in the spring as well, though, like La Cage no plans are definite.

I've been a bit out of the loop lately! I didn't know this was headed back to Broadway. Is there any cast info or anything out about it yet? I'll google it, but I'm sure people will post here before I can do a search! LOL

I love the show. I think it is one of the most moving theatre pieces I've ever seen. Even seeing it multiple times, I cried every time when little Colehouse comes out at the end. I can't help, but have high hopes for it on Broadway. Maybe it'll stay long enough for me to get back up to NYC from Georgia...

This is going to be such a great and different year for revivals.

Shame the original musical category has never looked more anemic and ****ty.

I think around a year, it's getting a lot of hype from the DC run. That being said, it doesn't have enough broad appeal or star power to run much past the initial hype ends.

Way too soon to speculate. But wondering why you are asking?

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

Assuming it's successful, it will run until Phantom 2 is ready to move into the Neil Simon.

Am happy about Ragtime, but what is this about La Cage? Back AGAIN?

Wasn't it just at the Marquis (?) about 3-4 years ago, unsuccessfully if I remember correctly?
