I've seen it 72 times now. The last 4 times were October 4, 5, 7 and 8 on Broadway.
I'm so jealous of everyone having the chance to go to the lottery every day. I think I'd do exactly the same if I lived in NYC and not in stupid Germany where no one understood this great show.

As I am German maybe I can give you a few suggestions.
The German Cast recording of Les Miserables is really good. Although it's only the highlights CD. The complete recording is from Vienna 1988 and also quite good.
Maybe the Rent recording. The translations are really really REALLY bad, but maybe if you don't speak German it won't bother you too much.
How about Elisabeth? Have you heard of this show? It's really awesome!

I am 25 now and have fallen in love with this show ever since I heard the CD for the first time which was on December 24, 1996. I had not seen any cute Rent guys until 1999 when it started in Germany. So please don't say that only 13 year old girls from Nebraska like that show because even people in Germany love it.
I love the show for its music, story, feelings and message. And by the way: It's not that easy to summarize the Rent story in just one sentence.

Written in the stars - not the German version. Only cried there because I was thinking of the English words. Translations can be pure crap!!!

Yeah they do... I think all of the German versions are sung in German (except West Side Story or JSC, they are mostly sung in English). And Lion King was translated for the movie version of course... So they did not have to translate it for the show...
By the way, did anyone ever tell you that the German lyrics of Rent were the biggest crap ever? I think that's one of the reasons nobody wanted to watch it in Germany...

No it's completely in German. There is hardly any speaking... It is soooo great! I was really shocked when I heard that they did not even make it the the opening night on Broadway...

Currently we have Starlight, Cats, Phantom (I guess, they change locations so often that I lost tracking...), AIDA, Mamma Mia (twice), 42nd Street, Les Mis, Lion King, Dance of the Vampires... And that's it I guess. Some smaller productions but I don't know all of them...

I've just registered and just wanted to introduce myself: I'm Astrid, 25 from Germany, Rent addict since 1996, shows so far: 68, seeing it on Broadway for the first time in 40 days... 4 times in a row then. Really looking forward to it.
