I really think I'm addicted to Rent. I've seen it 4 times, listen to the cd every day, have Rent screen saver, Rent magnet, and basically look forward to the next time I'm going to see Rent as I'm leaving the theater. I've seen Daphne and Adam oerform at Kean and I saw the cast last week at a question and answer session at Kean, saw cast perform at Bryant Park over the summer, I read the message boards every day and only read the Rent threads. Is this normal. This play has touched me so much. Get this, I even called the theater to see if they were hiring in any capacity(concession, etc...) just to be near the show however you have to be in a union. I've taken 3 Rent virgins to see the show and they don't seem really moved and I think that that is really strange. Anyway I would love some feedback. My friend says I need an intervention.

It's not strange. A lot of people are addicted to a show. I was addicted to RENT a few years ago, but then realized there are a lot of shows with potential addiction-ness (Is that a word??) RENT is just one of those shows that people fall in love with. It's not weird to love it so much.

It's only a problem if the rest of your life (your school, your social life, your family environment) is suffering because of your fanship.

And trust me, there are a whole lotta crazier, truly obsessed Rent fans out there.

4 times? That's nothing compared to some people!
I don't think there's anything wrong with being passionate about it. Just remember that there's other stuff out there as well that you might be missing, so try to branch out a little bit.

Yeah...it's not addiction, yet. Join the club. I realized my obsession today during Bio, discussing HIV/AIDS and kept writing lines from the show in my notes.

omg Fabala Cohen, me too! Only, it was health class, and we were discussing how AIDs kill..and I screamed out "AGNEL!!!!!!!"

...everyone thought I was a complete freak hehe

so in the end, I had the longest class discussion about the characters of RENT hehe, I was the only one talking since I was the only one who knew the musical, but my teacher sure was grateful...we never have conversations in our class lol.

I've seen the show many a time, and love it. My friends aren't at all theatre fans, and don't really understand my love for it, but that's okay. I don't consider myself one of those 'insane rentheads.' (I consider myselfa renthead, minus the insane part lol). I think it's a healthy addiction...unless you're chasing the castmembers down the street, singing along with the show, going there every weekend and freak out every time someone says the word 'RENT,' then I think you'll be okay lol.

And yay for fans of DRV :).

Oh. Ohhhhh no. That's not bad at ALL, honey.

I've seen the show four times... in the past four months. Trust me, seeing it four times altogether - not a problem whatsoever.

And by the way - yes, Joel has seen it 1000+ times. *nod*

But really, you think that's bad - Kelly Karbacz, the current Maureen, she pulls me into hugs when she sees me outside the theatre. She knows my moo. It's really creepy, but at the same time, totally normal in my world.

Trust me, until you start responding to "Chips anyone?" with "You can take the girl outta hicksville..." -- Everything is A OK!

Oh, don't worry, I'm in need of serious help.

Did I mention the lotto guys rolling their eyes at me, "You again?"
