Refunds for “over the title” stars’ absences Apr 12

When the star is listed above the title of the show, they are telling you they view the star is more important IMO than the show so damn right you should ask for refund in that case."
Ive been coming from out of town for decades to see Broadway. And yes, I try to pick the shows and the performers I most want to see -- and this time of year, I also want to see the performers who are/will be nominated.
For a couple of years I was had the experience

This is getting CRAZY. Ive heard the producers think it's a good idea so that they can have a 'quiet' evening, but it is a definite buzz killer for folks like me. I'm old and old fashioned, but I actually have looked forward to 10 PM on opening night to see what the critics think.

SSN Question Mar 23
2025, 07:04:05 PM
Selling stuff at a profit is taxable income. ALL of the platforms are required to issue you a 1099K form at the end of the year if yout total sales exceed the amount that has been set. (The number is going DOWN each year during this implementation period). They are required to collect your SSN you they can send you the form next January.
I am actually surprised StubHub let you list without giving them your SSN. (They definitely have it in their listing rul

This is insane - Why A-Listers are NOT Broadway’s Most Expensive Draw Mar 22

As someone who sells tickets online (tennis, not Broadway), I will often list a ticket for a VERY high price -- I'm actually just trying to get it listed on the site. It

Do preview comments help move the needle? Mar 15
2025, 09:37:22 PM
I do think that the people on this board (or boards, in general) were heard about the Overture in the current production of Gypsy. Folks who went during previews had complained that they were starting the Overture while people were still being seated, but right before opening night that was changed.
I saw it a few weeks later and yes, at 8 pm SHARP, the lights went down and the first notes were played. (And yes, they finished just before 11 pm). And YES, I

Broadway Grosses: Week Ending 3/9/25 Mar 11
2025, 08:22:04 PM
I think that many in this discussion are not reckoning with something which is very very real -- and that is the re-sale market. I think it's only fair to really start with that when you discuss the box office prices. Because when 'brokers' both professional and hobbyists buy up tickets for resale, that is what (in fairness) is setting the price. It's everywhere now -- the average cost of a SuperBowl ticket this year on re-sale was more than $9000.00. (

GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK Previews Mar 11
2025, 05:23:03 PM
Hi
My wife would like to see this, and was wondering if there is a discount code.
AND also -- while ALL of the prices are outrageous, some are less outrageous than others. So -- what do you think of the ones that are priced at $200 or $300 each rather than for $700 each.
I dont know the Winter Garden well enough to be able to know -- and it would be worse than awful to splurge and go and find she cant see......
THANKS

Looks like totally reasonable choices. I would recommend you see Gypsy if you have (a) never seen a Gypsy on Broadway or (b) if you have never seen Audra on stage in person. Whether you totally agree with the Director's approach to the work, she is giving an extraordinary performance -- which frankly would be amazing, except noone is surprised because, well, because she's Audra.
IMO, Gatsby and Hell's Kitchen are clear runner ups on your list. I don't

And here I thought I was the only one old enough to have seen Merman.
My vote is also for Merman -- after all it was written for her and it's almost impossible to conjure up now-a-days how it felt to sit in the last row in the balcony and have her voic

THIS.
Audra is beyond extraordinary in a revival that is otherwise less than memorable. (For all of the reasons folks have been posting 500 times... After seeing it, I spent the balance of the evening marveling at her performance. It wasnt until the next day that I started thinking that the revival itself is kinda 'meh'

EUREKA DAY Reviews - EXTENDED AGAIN! Jan 8

If I had a choice of seating I would be sure to be 'centered' since the 'laugh until you cant breathe' scene requires that you see the screen in the back wall of the 'library.' We sat Center Mezz and had a perfect view. My guess is that every seat has an 'adequate' view of the screen, though, so I wouldnt be too concerned.
And all of the story happens close enough to the center of the stage that you shouldnt have a problem in the far left or

The US Open has been a client for years and it most definitely does not sell out in entirety, let alone right away. SOME select matches/ticket blocks some years

SUFFS To Play Final Broadway Performance January 5, 2025 Jan 6
2025, 06:22:37 PM
I was there. It was wonderful. Seemed that half the audience was wearing merch (or political stuff).
The crowd roared for every entrance and must have stood up at least five or six times. I think everyone cried. I know I did.
The speeches were lovely (but too long, as always). Hillary came on stage but didnt say anything -- purple pantsuit. (Quite a weekend for her -- the Medal of Freedom in DC on Saturday and Suffs on Sunday).&nbs

Congestion pricing Jan 6

I spend a lot of time reading the posts on BW and enjoying or being frustrated by them. I VERY rarely poat.
But I was in NYC this weekend for three shows, and we take a cab from our place to the theater each time. Yesterday we experienced congestion pricing for the first time. It added SEVENTY FIVE CENTS to the bill. Or put another way -- I wouldnt have even noticed it except that there is a popup on the screen for the rider to see. (Just like when you go

Pair of tickets for sale to Hell's Kitchen 6/15/8pm Jun 5

THANKS to everyone for their help.
I havent been able to sell these on Theatre yet -- I listed them at the price I paid, and so far, no luck.
I even went and checked StubHub (ugh) just now to see if I was asking too much for them, -- but (as expected) anything similar is MUCH more than what I am hoping to recover.
They are Center Orchestra, on the aisle, Row J (113 & 114). Saturday evening 6/15. And I paid $344 each for them.
