The original Sweeney Todd recouped.

Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond to star in NYCC Gala presentation of Parade  Nov 2 2022, 11:19:49 PM

Ben Platt stars as a victim of cancelation in "I Didn't Do Anything Wrong: The Musical"

MRS. DOUBTFIRE Previews  Oct 28 2021, 04:12:35 PM

This was much better than I thought it would be. In fact it was almost really good. Comparing this to Tootsie, which was way worse, it's clear that a good director makes all the difference for new musicals.

The Public's THE VISITOR - Previews  Oct 21 2021, 10:13:56 PM

A Director said: " Have you seen the show? If not, how can you judge its quality? "

I've seen it.

BoringBoredBoard40 said: "boy is this show turning into a mess, it had Broadway hopes but really seeing that picture fade"

Considering this show's (lack of) quality, it's hard to believe it ever was seriously being considered for Broadway. What an embarrassing return for the Public.

Any discount codes for this? It's clearly not selling very well (despite quite a bit of industry hype) and I was hoping to go in previews. I know there was a VISITOR discount code for $30 tix -- wondering if they're doing the same for this.
What if? Best musicals from 1940-1948  Mar 30 2018, 07:42:09 PM

Perhaps the Donaldson awards can clue us in:

1944: Carmen Jones

1945: Carousel

1946: Show Boat

1947: Finian's Rainbow

1948: High Button Shoes

Is God Is @Soho Rep  Feb 20 2018, 03:38:28 PM

I'm not seeing this for a few weeks, but it's very obvious from the published text that SoHo Rep is simply far too small a space to stage this play properly. I would imagine it needs something like the Vivian Beaumont to really allow for the epic-ness that the text is going for.

At Home at the Zoo @ Signature (PREVIEWS)  Feb 8 2018, 05:23:52 PM

A staggering production. You will never see these plays done better.

Early Shaker Spirituals has returned to New York until the 17th. Anybody seen it/planning on seeing it?

Any reports on Twelfth Night at CSC?  Dec 8 2017, 12:42:37 PM

It's fine. Not bad, but not very interesting. Low on the wattage.

Bedlam's Peter Pan  Nov 27 2017, 12:04:54 AM

Saw it tonight and thought it was really fantastic. Definitely don't go in expecting anything traditional—in fact, it's best to imagine it as a new show entirely, but it will make you laugh until you're silly and leave you thinking on the subway ride home.

Mean Girls @ The National in DC - Reactions  Nov 1 2017, 02:50:35 PM

They take an actual bus and run the actress playing Regina over with it. seven out of ten times, she dies

The Wooster Group – The B-Side  Oct 26 2017, 10:01:40 PM

The Wooster Group once again knocks it out of the park with this performance, which I thought was just absolutely stunning. It's in a similar vein as Early Shaker Spirituals, though its intentions and affect are completely different. Simply marvelous.

Anyone else seen this yet?
