Holy cow. I was just thinking about that reading that Platt did a few years ago this morning. City center is really hitting home runs!

Oof. No thanks to Platt. Glad to see Micaela returning to the New York stage though!

She will be wonderful. I don't expect the same from him, but maybe he will surprise me.
Looks like it is connected to the production Roundabout was working on a few years ago

This is very good casting, and I’m not a Ben Platt fan. It’ll be lovely to hear this with a full orchestra.
This is terrific casting. Excited to see it. Platt will be excellent.
Love Micaela Diamond. Platt... not so much. I sure do love the score of this show, though. The Manhattan Concert Production's performance with Jeremy Jordan and Laura Benanti was wonderful.

Very exciting casting
What wonderful, wonderful news!
I am very excited for this gala presentation of "Parade". The original Broadway production starring Brent Carver and Carolee Carmello at the Beaumont in 1998 is one of the most thrilling I have experienced in my theatre-going life.
Micaela Diamond and Ben Platt are both gifted and talented and I look forward to hearing them sing this score.
Excited to see this, and the casting is great imo! does anybody know what time onsale is? I see it's June 14th but I don't see a time, is there a specific time NYCity Center does onsale?
PS: I nearly confused the NYCC headline for new York Comic Con... would be very strange to perform there, haha

Oh good more clipped phrasing and unmotivated riffing coming our way. Wonderful…

It's usually noon.

Uranowitz has been lobbying to play Leo for years and he would've been a great choice. Platt...there will be a lot of impromptu riffing and fluttery eyes. Can't believe we're getting a major production of parade with transfer potential for the first time and *this* is the cast. Sigh.
Oh, I would love so much to see Uranowitz!
It’s funny - I feel like I’m experiencing deja vu. When Borle was replaced by Harris for ITW many on here expressed their dislike, cancelled tickets and made assumptions that he wouldn’t be good. We all know how that turned out.
Now some of you are doing it to Platt?
SMDH.

He sings a bit of This is not Over Yet here and it's STUNNING.

Yes….believe it or not, it is indeed possible to dislike more than one performer’s talents at a time! I know. I was shocked to learn this too.

That was not the point of my post ding-a-ling.
Arden! Arden! Arden! Yeah!
I wonder how much of the cast from the roundabout reading will join this.
According to the Broadwayworld article posted by jacobtsf, the rest of the cast included: Mallory Bechtel (Iola Stover), John Behlmann (Hugh Dorsey), Kevin Chamberlin (Luther Rosser/Mr. Peavy), Eddie Cooper (Newt Lee/Riley), Rodrick Covington (Jim Conley), Luther Creek (Officer Ivey), Andrew Durand (Britt Craig), Mark Jacoby (Old Soldier/Judge Roan), Mia Sinclair Jenness (Essie), Howard McGillin (Governor Slaton), Kenita Miller(Minnie McKnight/Angela), Renee Rapp (Monteen), John Rapson (Prison Guard), Brian Sears (Young Soldier), Laura Shoop (Sally Slaton), Brooklyn Shuck (Mary Phagan), Will Swenson (Tom Watson), Melissa Van Der Schyff (Mrs. Phagan), and Oscar Williams (Frankie Epps).

Didn’t see it was Arden, that really makes me interested. And I think Platt can do right by this role and not overindulge vocally. Diamond I think is an exciting new performer, I think she has real star makings.
Also, is there any insight on if they are performing the original version or the updated one from Donmar?
