The shrinking of Les Miz. Lion King dropped some stuff in the last decade I think.

Are the orchestrations and instrumentation the same as the original Orpheum production?

I think we first lost something when they trimmed the show from 3 hours 15 minutes to under 3 hours to avoid paying Overtime costs. That is where some tempo changes started and some cuts from the original were made. You can still listen to the complete symphonic version to enjoy most of the reduced components like from start of Master Of The House and Little People. My favorite has to be with little shop revival on broadway. Sent note to the designer and pupetter for the plant who was the same as the original production In my note I told him memories of this being my first show ever when it was at the Orpheum and asked for a playbill signed. In turn he sent some of his penciled designed plant drawings for the revival, some stage manager notes for him and other goodies in addition to the playbill. I have always really enjoyed the orchestrations in Miss Saigon especially the brass and percussion. Have heard some comments about the smaller orchestra and poor sound. Have they worked bugs out? How does the orchestra sound? Vibrant and full or tinny?
