Recent Experience with Come From Away Rush ??

Aug 23, 2019 — 3:37:58 AM

I passed by the line on my way to rushing Betrayal on Wednesday (8/21) at around 7:40, and there were like four or five people on the line. I imagine Saturdays are similar, if not slightly harder?

Betrayal Rush

Aug 23, 2019 — 3:33:58 AM

When my friend and I rushed a Wednesday show (8/21), we were first and second in line at 7:20 and 7:40 respectively. The third and fourth people came in a pair and arrived at around 7:45. Then the line was quiet until about 8:30, when the fifth and sixth people arrived. The line steadily grew after that. The three tickets we got were all orchestra: two of which were I9 and I11, and the other was I10. It was a fantastic view, as there really isn’t a set to block the way and you’re just close e...

Was third in line on a Wednesday when I got there at 9:55, if anyone is wondering.

Bad Theater Behavior

GeorgeandDot said: "When I saw Hadestown recently, at the end of Wait For Me about 10 people in the orchestra got up and started running for the restrooms. They were literally jumping over other patrons to be first in line. As the stampede was halfway up the aisle, they realized the act wasn't over and turned around and started climbing back over the people still in their seats in order to see the end of the act. It was pretty remarkable."That happened when I saw Hadestown too. I guess “Wait ...

JBroadway said: "Now that they’re selling more rush tickets, I hope the reverse-snowball effect starts coming into play. Hopefully soon people won’t have to get there at 3am, so nobody will do it anymore. As it is,12th person in line at 6am on a two-show day is a slight improvement from before, isn’t it? At least you have a good chance at getting in. "I hope so!To answer the question further up, I think the first couple of people got here at around 3 am. The people three in front of me got he...

TORCH SONG Transferring to Broadway

Dec 11, 2017 — 7:07:23 AM

Having not known anything about the play before seeing it, I thought it was easily one of the better things I’ve seen all year. I thought Urie was great in the role, and I would love to see this again when it transfers.

The only box office that’s ever asked me for my ID after winning was Hamilton. Wonder why that is?

Even if someone doesn’t know his signature, it’s one of the easier ones to read (at least the Lin part). It’s not that huge of a leap for a person to connect the Lin in the signature with the Lin on the cover, no?

His voice is great, and “For Forever” choked me up a bit. He doesn’t do nearly as much of the twitching that I saw Ben Platt do during the Tony performance, but he does do some of them. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, just different. My problems lie in the show itself, not with any of the performers; I thought they ...

The Band's Visit Rush Policy Announced

Nov 23, 2017 — 9:55:56 PM

They give out 20 rush tickets each performance. There are designated rush seats on the extreme orchestra sides (I don’t think they are anywhere else?)

The Mad Ones (previously

Nov 22, 2017 — 12:19:59 AM

It felt like it was stuck in 2008 with the worst parts of 2016/2017 shoved right in. Oh well. It still somehow managed to bring a lump to my throat (once, near the very end), but for the most part, I was pretty bewildered. They seemed to have made the book worse? I still love the three songs I remembered from the first time around, and I enjoyed the club/EDM song more than I thought I would. The “under 30” crowd around me was eating it up; I could hear active crying all around me at the end. ...

People Leaving at Intermission

Nov 18, 2017 — 1:56:33 PM

I don’t think people leaving at intermission mistakenly is an enormous problem- not enough to warrant an announcement. But then again, “Mind the Gap” and “Contents May be Hot” are also things...

Show for 16 year old boy

Nov 18, 2017 — 1:52:42 PM

Seconding The Play That Goes Wrong if you’re only seeing one show, and if your daughter is okay with not seeing a musical. It’ll probably be one of your cheapest options. The Book of Mormon’s also a good choice, if your daughter is older than your son. 16 is plenty old enough for it. Come From Away is just good all around, so that’s another option (and it’s on the shorter side, if you find that as a plus).
